Default nate gets a bad rap

why does it seem like people dont like nate. this dude always keeps his head up, energizes the other players, always looks like the happiest guy on the court when one of his teammates makes a play. this is true whether he plays 20 minutes or doesnt play at all. he makes some bad decisions sometimes but he always tries especially when the team is being blown out he usually sparks a run by his hard play while everyone else is playing dejected.

Because he has a football mentality that doesn't work well in basketball.

I like him and think he has a bright future in the NBA as a backup.

But he needs to mature and learn to play under control and the finer points of game and well........the point.

He just doesn't get the point of it.......

But he's a good guy and fun and I like him.

If he tries hard, he deserves the spot in the game. That's the one thing that Isiah needs to teach these guys. Hard work > talent. Because Jerome James might have some natural talent, but he certainly doesn't work hard. But players like Lee that give everything on the court, still sit the bench.

So true. Zeke's coaching ways should preach this: "Work hard, more minutes are your reward."

He struggles a bit when he uses forks and knives. When he uses his hands it's so natural for him.

Nate is a great backup, and is very effective when you need quick points. However, I dont think he can be a starting point guard for a winning team, I doubt that he can manage a game by himself.

i agree 100%. he doesnt have a negative ego. alot of guys with his talents would be as suppotive to his teammates as he does. and people sleep on him too. if u give him the shoots he can average 18-20 points easily.

Athletes with no skill or know-how often play football or run track. Nate's an amazing athlete. He's strong, fast and energetic. He can hop through the roof and he seems to have an extra gear that alot of players do not posess. That being said, he still sucks. He's like the little kid at the park who doesn't get out much. He's a chicken with his head cut off. It's funny how people criticize Steph for the same stuff that they praise Nate for. Nate is a bundle of backed up energy.

Nate is only useful in short spurts. He can't play organized basketball. He hasn't been able to all year and he couldn't get it done in summer league either if you recall. He struggled to run offensive sets and make wise decisions. He's only good for us when things simply arent going our way and we're playing off of pure adrenaline. This is how David Lee was when he was a rookie. Fortunately tho, David Lee worked on his SKILLS this summer and made himself a PLAYER and not just an athlete. The only thing Nate improved this summer was his jump shot.I give him credit for that but intellectually, he hasn't made any advancements. He's the same old Nate...maybe even worse after Brown left and Zeke allows him to thro alleys to himself and miss dunks.
