Default Does Vince Carter stay with the Nets?

Does he stay with the nets? Or go to the Magic? Possibly the Bobcats because of his carolina roots.

Nets offer him most money.

he said he wanted to go to Orlando.

Orlando will not S&T Carter, calling him Fool's Gold.

either Carter stays, or he screws the Nets over big time. no in betweens.

Carter To Nets: I Want To Stay
25th February, 2007 - 4:28 am
New York Daily News -
Vince Carter has been rumored to be heading anywhere from Orlando to Charlotte to even right across the river. But after scoring 26 points in a win over the Kings on Friday,

Carter revealed for the first time - at least publicly - what his true feelings may be. Though he has the ability to opt out of the final year of his contract once the season is over, Carter made it known that he'd like to stay with the Nets.

Speaking on the YES Network postgame show, Carter was told that team president Rod Thorn had earlier said, "We'd obviously like to sign him."

Carter responded by saying, "Hey, that sounds good to me. We're going to try to work it out. Hopefully I can be a Net for years to come."

Only a few days ago, it seemed the Nets were prepared to trade Carter. There has been much speculation that he'd like to play for Orlando, just over an hour away from his hometown of Daytona Beach. But the chances of that happening seem slim now that Magic general manager Otis Smith has bashed Carter's game, telling a Florida paper that he was reluctant to trade 21-year-old Darko Milicic for the 30-year-old Carter.

"I'm not going to take a step back and fall for what I call fool's gold," Smith said. "It shines and it glitters, but it just doesn't stick or pass the test.

regardless, there were many more interviews in the media in the New York Area and Carter was asked numerous times. each time he gave a rather bland answer then smiles and says "i dont want to talk about it."

so yeah he's sayin ghe would like to stay... maybe he is tired of all the reporter's asking him... but then why hasn't an extension been signed yet?

Carter will be there next season.

Moore and House will not be though, as the money devoted to Kidd, Carter RJ and in 1 year Krstic will prevent this team from signing any FA's since Ratner has been avoiding the luxury tax at all costs since his tenure began. Carter will make him flirt with the tax, or pay it, but he certainly will not pay tax on behalf of Moore or House.

So, who wants to sign Mikki Moore or Eddie House should be asked.

Why aren't the Nets just dumping VC, again?

I mean, they weren't remotely competitive this year, even before the Krstic injury. Instead of tying down the franchise with another huge contract, why not save some bullets and start to rebuild?

I read something in the ISH rumors a week or two ago that said that Mikki Moore's agent thinks he's worth the MLE.

IMO, VC could have been a great player IF he CARED. I know this thread aint about Lebron but I wish he wasn't caught up with the superstar lifestyle and could just focus on ball. I know hes gone off the past 3 games or so, but sometimes it seems like he just plays because its his job. Not because it's his passion or destiny. Kobe love him or hate him, cares about winning more than anything and would love to be a champ again(dont act like he wasn't part of the reason they won just cuz he had shaq when they won). Sorry for changin the subject. VC would be a good look for Orlando......IF he CARED.

I'd give Mikki Moore a couple million to play for the Suns, if I had it.

Then again, I liked him all the way back in his Clippers days.
