Argentina's Walter Herrmann to miss FIBA Americas
Ticker reports: Charlotte Bobcats rookie forward Walter Herrmann likely will not play for Argentina in the FIBA Americas Championship.
Herrmann was named the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month in March after averaging 12.1 points and 4.2 rebounds and shooting nearly 59 percent in 13 games with the Bobcats.
But it appears he will not play for Argentina this summer. "We haven't made the definitive decision to tell this to Argentinian press, but I will not play the championship," Herrmann told the Spanish-language newspaper Mi Gente in Charlotte. "I've been talking to (Argentina coach) Sergio Hernandez and it is very probable that I will not go. The main reason is the injury I had (stress fracture) last preseason."
