He's hoping by the end of the month or the 1st of June for a pitching start. He's talking about how the inuries are incredible. He's been working with young pitchers on his time off and hopes to help the young pitchers on the team. He wants to start on the 1st and they play the Red Sox that day. Coincidence?
He says that he's up to the challenge of all the responsibility this brings. Andy and alot of teammates were calling him and asking him about playing. He kept fit throwing for minor league batting practice. He wants to help "get the job done". He chose the Yankees cuz "these guys know how to win". Best closer, best coach and he could go on and on. He says that there are some guys that don't have a ring on the squad and that with a team like this that shouldn't be the case. A-Rod?
Jeter didn't know. Jeter's been on him pretty hard about him playing. It came to him fairly quick. He's excited and ready, it's another challenge. He expects that at his age to perform like when he was 25 or 26. He's hoping for a parade. That's the reason he came back and he knows why Andy came back. He's wearing his Yankee ring. He says that once in a while he whips it out. He says he's at playing weight. No pizzas. Staying pretty busy and active. He'll have a sitdown and work with the management to see what slot he'll get.
