Default China trade war likely coming to an end. Don't click if you hate Trump

I could have posted a link through the rose colored glasses of right leaning website but even through the rose colored glasses of a left leaning writer on a left leaning news network, things look good for Trump.

Okay, but you cant gain something in the long term without a short term sacrifice. THESE are the kinds of job losses that are exactly the reason we have temporary safety net programs, and when a deal is reached these people will be back to work. Meanwhile, presumably, new markets will be opened in China after the deal and American IP will be better protected as well.

    From your article:

The typical benefit of import protection fades away in today's global economy, according to the Fed, since reduced competition and higher production costs present greater harm in the short term.

While the longer-term effects of the tariffs may differ from those that we estimate here, the results indicate that the tariffs, thus far, have not led to increased activity in the US manufacturing sector," the report's authors wrote.
I mean everyone calls this thing a trade ‘war.’

Since when did anyone win a war without sacrificing anything??
