I think Chad Ford hit the nail on the head in two short paragraphs:

"Lewis just received a max deal, or very close -- as close as the Magic could offer. So is Lewis a max player?

Some questions: Was he the best player on his team? (No.) Was his team good? (No.) Is he the best player on his new team? (No.) Do we really need to ask any more questions?"


It's so simple, it seems insane the Magic don't understand this.....

masterful negotiation by his agent. hell, i'm white, 6'1", 180 lbs, with a 20" vertical, (but a three-point assasin), and i bet he could fetch me the MLE with half a dozen teams

its simple. Does Rashard Lewis make you significantly better? No, not really. And now the Magic are screwed. They used all their cap space on Lewis and are stuck with him for 6 years. What a waste.

He probably wasn't worth half that amount. Insane.....

Yea me too. I think he's gonna have a really good year this year. Something along the lines of 25+ppg, 7-8rpg, and 3-4 apg, all which would be career highs. But he's still not worth all the money he's getting.


Either that, or he's just gonna be lazy and take in all the money while not producing like he's suppose too.

how do you say it don't make them significantly better, It adds a offensive superstar which was there biggest weakness. Sure they overpaid but they don't need him to play D or rebound and people say they let Darko go, well **** Darko hes never gonna live up to potential. They have a 20+ scorer, a 12+ rpg and a defensive beast
