Default Bucks to bring back Mason?

According to several reports, the Bucks are planning on signing free agent Desmond Mason to a multi-year contract. I wouldn't mind seeing him back, but it depends on the price. I don't think Bobby Simmons money would be appropriate since we already have him. In other news, are the Bucks any where near coming to terms with Yi?

I think $3-4 million a year is appropriate for Mason. He can't shoot the basketball, period. Decent athelete, and good teammate, but not much of a talent, and short for a 3 at 6'5".

I'd welcome him back as long as we pay him like a bench player.

And I'm glad we did.

He'll be a nice addition to the team. Can't make us any worse, I can tell you that.

I don't think Mason is all that much of a basketball player, even compared to Patterson who he's replacing - but he brings a winning attitude, and he's good friends with Redd and Mo. He'll help team chemistry I think.

Agreed.

Patterson is long gone isn't he? He wasn't even on the Bucks.com roster, and I didn't even see him listed under players on NBA.com

It's a shame. I liked Ruben a lot. Damn sexual harassment nonsense probably got in the way of things. Herb Kohl most likely 'didn't approve'.

I think your read on the Patterson situation is correct, but I don't know the details. All I know is that he upset every team in the league somehow, and was begging for somebody to give him a one year minimum-salary contract.

He recently signed with the Clippers for a non-guaranteed minimum deal, meaning that they can waive him any time they want before January 10, with no financial obligation.
