Default Where would Shaq rank all-time?

If he miraculously got in supreme shape next season, stayed healthy, and lead The Heat to a title and won finals MVP? Does his stock rise and become elite 5 or would it remain the same?

The question is purely hypthetical (but not impossible).

Shaq should already be ranked top 5 all time but he never will be because people simply don't like the thought of it and don't realize how truly good he is.

His prime year or two were the absolute best the game of basketball has ever seen by any single player.

His career is up there as well.

He was better as a rookie than anyone currently in the league is RIGHT NOW except maybe Duncan.

There is nobody in the league right now that will ever be even 75% as good as Shaq was in his prime.

Lets see. The chances of being healthy at Shaq's age..hmm

50/50?

It would be a miracle...sh!t. but seriously, do you even see Shaq getting into shape? His stock will probably stay the same unless if he has a Wilt the Stilt season. which is impossible.

So you don't believe another title and finals MVP will solidify his dominance and steer his critics?

Did you not pay attention to my OP? Please read it again. Your being a critic for no reason. Nowhere did I state Shaq will be healthy and rule the league.

I think it will, if he returns 100 percent healthy, and wins title plus mvp.

Well first of all, it's not going to happen. He doesn't care anymore. He's proven that he could win without Kobe(not that he ever really needed to, mind you... only to the simpleminded).

Secondly... going strictly by your hypothetical, I don't think you would see anyone rank him top 5 all time that already currently doesn't if it were to happen. He's not going to do anything this year even if he were to get into the best shape he possibly could that we haven't seen from him already and a lot better, at that. So no, it wouldn't matter to anyone.

I would personally rate him as the best center of all time, and would rank him higher as far as GOAT because of that.

Put a semi-healthy Shaq in the playoffs with a healthy Wade and anything is possible. He STILL can be that dominant.

Hey Jimmy, even though I can't see Shaq gettin back to Hateraid's criteria above....

1) If Shaq put up 15/10/2....doesn't that look better than most centers of today, at least top 5 worthy.

2) Also consider Shaq won't play more than 30 a game.

Was there any need for this thread? You know he is going to play less than 60 games at his age. There isn't going to be a damn miracle. The Heat are old and you know it. Shaq doesn't even bother to get his ass into shape.

Damnit. I need some sleep.

As a center shaq is top 5 All-time.

As a player, the league was right for putting him in early on as a top 50.

Hateraid, I hope this help you.

It's a hypothetical question.
It's not a question on if Shaq will be healthy, it's a question of What if he was. There is a big difference. You're replying to a totally different question.
Even I would agree he's not getting into shape next season.
