****I dont know about you guys, if I'm kobe I have a legitimate reason to demand trade, Lakers tickets is one of the most expensive in the NBA and yet they dont have an expensive team.
Clippers ticket is only about half the price of a Laker ticket but yet their payroll is almost the same as Lakers, base on this numbers alone we can conclude that Jerry Buss is more cheapskate than donald Sterling.
going over the cap surely doesn't make you a good owner or GM, but im a big fan of GMs who don't mind going over the cap in the name of creating a better team. It's nice seeing the Denver owner or Bostons owners saying they dont mind paying the tax if the fans are happy.
Phoenix are just a bunch of cheapos. They could be putting an even more amazing team out there on the floor if they wanted.
its funny because the difference between 4 and 21 is only 10 mill
the comparison seems that the teams on top have big salaries but it is only a 10 mill gap
That's what I was thinking. That's what, two moderately bad contracts. Or one bad contract and a high first rounder, one of which often begets the other.

That's because of the luxury tax. I don't know what it is exactly this year, but somewhere between 68-70 million I'd guess. Eveyone buches up between 58-68 million.
If you are spending under that, you are probably underspending (but if you are winning, who cares). If you are spending over that you are probably losing money (but if you are rich like Mark Cuban/Knicks) then who cares?
It's mainly because teams with cap space tend to use it, and thus go right back over the cap the next season. Once you're over the cap, it's hard to keep adding to payroll unless you make trades for overpaid players like Isiah does.
So unless Kwame wants the Lakers to turn expiring contracts (Kwame) into overpaid, mediocre players, he's got nothing to complain about.
Last time I watched a Laker game, it cost me $18 for parking, $46 for food and beer and couple of hundred for the ticket, only to see Smush friggin Parker and other cheap players.
they should lower the price of ticket if we'll continue to see an inexpensive team, I'm tired of seeing the Tierre Brown's, the Tony Bobbits, Smush Parkers who all barely made an NBDL team. Lakers need to be sold to another team of owners, they dont care about the fans anymore.

that's because the Lakers sell out every night and can charge what they want...clippers don't sell out and resort to all sorts of promotions to get people to come, if the clippers tried to charge laker prices the house would be half full....
and you can't look at payroll and assume cash out = good team... new york is on top, san antonio is probably around 15 nuff said
