In the 89 the russians let him leave the country but he came to Spain (Forum Valladolid and then Real Madrid) instead of going to the NBA. Do you know if there was a veto for him going to USA or was it a personal decission?
well...there's conspiracy theory that the doctors from russia gave him some medicaments that made his achiles break twice. and with those injuries he was still able to show something. yeah

man i wish he came to play for the blazers when they 1st originaly drafted in in 86. in the early 90's he was a pleasure to watch play with the old school blazer squad, dropping in 3's, behind the back passes, cross court bounce passes it was an art form the way he played. i still consider him one of the best international centers of all time even in the nba
