I really dont see how they cant in any logical way. Solid and expensive players at every spot, even into the bench. Is ZBo enough to put them over the edge? It seems to me that his strength is the same as curry (he is an markedly better rebounder of course).
I think we will see at least 4 central teams (possibly all 5) and 2 teams out of the Southeast. That leaves 1 or 2 spots. Can we state that the knicks are better than the celtics (still dont really know), nets (Jeez, sign arujo if you have to, find some galddang bigmen) and Toronto (the great white hope)?
I dont think they are. They are probably near the edge of the playoffs but I still haven't seen anything to convince me they can get past their dysfunction. They should've been good for years based on prior playing from their FA signings and trades (not to mention the double salary they pay - triple with the luxury tax) but they havent been. Whats really changed? We can scapegoat lil' Stevie as much as we want, but its bigger than one player.
They are just the 4th best in the Atlantic behind New Jersey, Boston and Toronto. Other teams that I think are better in the East include Detroit, Cleveland, Orlando, Chicago, Miami and maybe Washington.

IMO they will compete with detroit, cleveland, orlando, miami, and washington.
