But to answer the question, I think they would've gone to at least the conference finals. Another series against the Spurs. And I would have hoped it would have been as good as the year before. Not necessarily the Mavs win part. But a good , tough series between two division rivals.
BUT YOU COULDN'T BEAT THE WARRIORS, YOU WEREN'T GOING ANYWHERE!
Seriously though, I think they would have beaten Utah, and lose a tough series to the Spurs.
However, even if the Mavs did beat the Spurs, why would Mavs fans think they'd beat the Cavs, much less sweep them? The Mavs are not in the same stratosphere as the Spurs defensively (mostly because of Tim Duncan), and Lebron would score at will on the Mavs, Dirk would be in foul trouble if he challenged Lebron at the rim consistently, and the Lebron would shoot just as many free throws as D-Whistle last year. If it were possible to top on the choke-meter losing in the Finals to the heat the way the MAvs did (the Mavs were unquestionably robbed, but the Mavs only beat the Spurs because the Spurs were unquestionally robbed), and losing in the first round to 8th seeded team the very next year after a 67 win season (this is was a genuine AWFUL SHOWING, also known as choking), losing in the Finals two years in a row to Wade and then Lebron would be beyond embarrasing.
The Mavs would have fared much better against the Pistons than they would have the Cavs.
