Default Josh Boone has shoulder surgery

New Jersey Nets rookie forward Josh Boone underwent successful arthroscopic surgery today, Wednesday, July 19, to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, Nets President Rod Thorn announced. The surgery was performed by Dr. Riley Williams III at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan.

I was just about to post this, the worst part is it says "no timetable for his return." I know this is a bad injury for QB's or pitchers, neither of which is Josh Boone, but still, the Nets will either have to try and bring over Illic or sign Eric Williams.

We really need this guy, he's our new big, hopefully he recovers soon, not just so he can play, but for his health...

Not soon...out 4 to 6 months.

Josh Boone out 4-6 months following shoulder surgery

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- Nets First-round draft pick Josh
Boone might miss up to half of his rookie season because of
shoulder surgery.

New Jersey president Rod Thorn says the former University of
Connecticut forward will be sidelined four-to-six months following
an operation to repair a torn labrum.

The 23rd pick overall was not expected to be a starter for the
Atlantic Division champs. But the agile six-foot-ten player was
expected to be in their rotation and to give them a shot-blocking
presence.

Thorn says Boone could not tell the Nets when the injury
happened.

This sucks...he's expected to be out until November or December. However, I read somewhere that Rod will now look to free agency for a big man who can help right away. Lorenzen Wright maybe?

Damn, we need to get Ilic over here.

I didn't expect him to contribute. But it's never good to lose bodies.

Not as bad as the day I came home and found out we lost RJ for the rest of the season...that was just horrible.

At a first glance I thought you said not as bad as when I came home today and saw we lost RJ for the season and I started freaking out thinking you meant the coming season. and then i realized you meant 2 seasons ago.

He doesn't really give anything the Nets don't already have. He's not a terrific defender or rebounder. Just a skinnier, more athletic Jason Collins.
