Why did Hornets trade Kirk Snyder for Marc Jackson?
Why did the Hornets trade Kirk Snyder for Marc Jackson? They have plenty of big men, and now, a shortage of guards. Was there an underlying factor, or did they just get carried away in the trading frenzy like Portland on draft night?
But was Snyder making that much money? It couldn't have hurt them too much financially to keep him on the team if they needed a backup. They already shipped JR Smith out, and Chris Paul only has Bobby Jackson, Macijauskas and Moochie Norris (don't know if either of the last two are still on the team). I'm guessing Jackson has a fairly large contract because he is a big man, and Snyder has only been in the NBA for a year.

the trade was with Houston, and it was Kirk Snyder for a conditional 2008 second-round pick.
and yes, the Hornets only have Paul and Mason -more of a F- as guards. not a single bench. wtf are they thinking i understand they had trouble with JR, but why get rid of Snyder without getting a guard back? if this was planned, why draft Hilton Armstrong when Ronnie Brewer or Thabo Sefolosha were still out there?
Hornets better get some guards some way -like by trading some of the 678 forwards they have-.
Oh, guess I just got mixed up then. And I was just making a reference to Portland making a lot of trades - I didn't actually mean to diss them. I thought they made some good moves too.
