Default Allan Houston Signs for the Knicks

I just heard on wfan that Alan Houston is back? Did i hear that right? I know he was competing for a spot. What does this mean for Demetris Nichols? I know Fred Jones had a good night against the 76ers, so he will probably be on the roster, but Nichols?

Maybe we can trade some of our players for a veteran backup center.

We have too many players........I've never seen anything like it.

But Houston and Crawford are kind of redundant. No D 2 guards......

He must have showed something for isiah to sign him.

Maybe Oakley is next to be a backup center.

Houston is smart, he said he has been working hard for more then a year, so if he feels he can contribute it's because he can.

houston and crawford arent redundant. if youre expecting the same from them both, youre mistaken. theyll have 2 different roles.

I don't quite remember Houston being a liability on defense. He wasn't a lockdown, but he wasn't matador either.

Plus he made plenty of guys pay with that sweet stroke.

H20 and Crawford have nothing in common. Their games are total opposites.

Allan signed but he still has to make the team. With that being said I think its a good move by Zeke. If he is close to what he was than you have to keep him if not, cut him. I'm looking forward to seeing how he'll do in this preseason. I wish Allan the best. If he is healthy and completely mobile we need to make a trade. LETS GET ARTEST!!!!!!!!!!! The Knicks you keep are Marbury, Randolph, Curry, Lee, Balkman, and Collins. Make it happen Zeke!!!!

in the new york times today, they brushed it off as him being a longshot to make the team and had quotes of isaih sayin somethin like its simply out of respect for houston to give him a shot.. dont know if he makes the team, with all the players we got, there might not be room for another (unless a trade is made). hes my man tho so hopefully they can find a way

Embarassing. I couldn't even come up with a witty comeback or explanation for this idiotic move by the Knicks. Unnecessary and a harmful waste is what comes to mind. Allan Houston is like a blood diamond. His new nickname or "Knickname" should be Sierra Leone. what were we thinking?

This is the strangest comeback I have ever seen.

He missed so much time and then missed a lot of camp and now preseason.

That doesn't sound like a person who is seriously making an attempt at a comeback. All show and no go.....or the wishful thinking of a big ego?

And PLeeeeze.......he was a terrible defender, he would never play the 3 even though he is 6'6"+.......Sprewell at 6'5" did because Sprewell had them between his legs and Houston DID NOT!!!

I still say Sprewell should had done more then curse out Dolan, he should have kicked his arse.

Kind of like holding him by his hair as he kicks his butt type of thing like you would do with a bully.

IF Houston, is healthy and can play at near the level he did before the injury, he could really help the Knicks.

The son of a coach, Houston, was one of the best (and most reliable) shooters in the league, could drive to the basket and was fundamentally sound on offence and defence. Plus he is a good citizen and positive influence in the locker room.

IF Houston is healthy and in good shape, he is much, much better NOW than most of the Knicks last 5 or 6 players trying to make the team.

You can not have too many players who can hit their outside shots and spread the offence for Randolph and Curry.

But all that is a BIG "IF!"

I wish him well but, it is a long shot -- even for a player who once was very good at hitting long shots! Houston's knees can go at any time.

I can't beleive I'm saying this but Crawford should stay as our shooter. I see Houston as a liability. Something like what Francis was. Taking up a spot on the roster that someone else should fill in order to help out this team.

Stay at ESPN giving your two cents about idiotic nonsense.
