The Bucks would never go after Kobe. It'd be incredible...but it just won't happen.

There's no way to make a Kobe offer without Redd, because the only other way to match salaries is to use both Simmons and Gadzuric, who have huge negative-value contracts. I don't think Kobe would approve a trade to Milwaukee because no matter what he says, he cares more about playing in a big market than he does about winning. But if he did approve it, I'd be willing to offer Redd+Yi+a couple first round picks to get the deal done.

I'd think you'd have to offer Redd with Charlie and/or Yi plus picks...it would more damage your team than help it.

There's almost no conceivable scenario where getting a top 5 player does more damage than good. Ignoring the one fluke season by the Pistons, no NBA title has been won without a top-5 player in the past 15 years.

With Redd as their leader, the Bucks odds at a championship are basically 0%. With Kobe as their leader the odds at least become some positive number.

If Buss went up to Bryant and told him he had a trade in place that would keep Milwaukees core in tact so he could play along with Redd Kobe would still laugh, and use the veto clause in his contract.

He wants to win a championship, not be an 8 seed.

I think in a years time, one draft on and with Yi developed into a better player, the bucks will be fine, hell i even think they are a good team now. I have my hopes for the Bucks this season
