Default New to NBA Fantasy - Please help with roster

Hi All,

I'm looking for some help on my roster. It's a 13 team head to head, tracking FG%, FT%, 3PTM, PTS, REB, AST, ST, BLK, TO.
Roster positions are PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, Util, Util, BN, BN, BN.

My team:
Amare Stoudemire C
Yao Ming C
Caron Butler SF
Gerald Wallace SF,PF
LaMarcus Aldridge PF,C
Samuel Dalembert C
T.J. Ford PG
Rajon Rondo PG,SG
Cuttino Mobley SG
Chris Wilcox PF,C
Francisco Garcia SG,SF
Damien Wilkins SG,SF
Brendan Haywood C

Top Available so far according to Yahoo:
Mickael Pietrus
Shane Battier
Rasual Butler
Jose Calderon
Greg Buckner
Chuck Hayes
Juan Dixon
Desmond Mason
Keith Bogans
Vladimir Radmanovic

I haven't watched the NBA since Shaq was a rookie, so I'm a little lost on the strengths/weaknesses of all these players. Help is appreciated!

13 teamer h2h? How do you work the matchups with odd number of teams?

Anyhoot. Nice team in a 9 cat league. NBA.com provides plenty of info regarding their stats. game logs are also very helpful, should you find the time.

Roster positions are PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, Util, Util, BN, BN, BN.

You have crazy depth at center. Other than grabbing waiver wire players. Trading from strengths gives you an upperhand improving your team. Centers are hard to come by.

Amare Stoudemire C
Yao Ming C
Chris Wilcox
LaMarcus Aldridge PF,C
Samuel Dalembert C
Brendan Haywood

Gerald Wallace
T.J. Ford PG
Rajon Rondo PG,SG
Cuttino Mobley SG
Chris Wilcox PF,C
Francisco Garcia SG,SF
Damien Wilkins SG,SF
Caron Butler

3's, scoring, assists(focus), maybe stls. Also a power forward, just in case your trade some away.

What are your starting mandates?

anybody else. Hard part is none of your players are really droppable.

If I were you, I'd think about shopping Amare. Cover up Amare from the top of this list:

Amare Stoudemire C
Yao Ming C
Chris Wilcox C
LaMarcus Aldridge PF,C
Samuel Dalembert C
Brendan Haywood C

I still very much like your big men without Stoudamire. Is that group weaker without him? Sure, but I'll take Yao and Dalembert at starting center if I can score another fantastic point guard. So shop him for a premier pg like Deron Williams or Chris Paul. Maybe someone has excess assists and wants to take a flyer on Amare's knee.

So maybe you trade him and get value for him, maybe you keep him and he misses three months. In that situation, either way he's not a starter for you, and you still sit ok with Yao, Haywood, Dalembert and even Wilcox. I'd have some fun and see what I could get for Amare.

Thanks for the tips =)

I might look at trading Amare, I'll see how he goes next week.

Oh and it's a 12 team league my bad.
