Default So are there any more real bully "Enforcers" in the league??

It seems like are the big men today are all finesse with mad range. what happened to the guys that loved being int he trenches scrapping for rebounds taking offense fouls, making sure anyone taking it to the rack gets bumped. I really dont think there is any one like that in the league any more.

I miss the "bad guys" Charles Oakley's, Antonio Davis, Gary Trent, Dale Davis's (when he was playing) of the league.

I guess you can say Kenyon Martin use to be one before all of is injuries.

So who is left in the NBA?????

I don't think KMart's D ranks up there with the old bruisers like Oakley.

Kurt Thomas is still in the league but he's not like what he once was.

I think Fortson was the last of that line. Nowadays, all we've really got are the Bruce Bowen/Greg Buckner/Raja Bell/Trenton Hassell/Adrian Griffin type of players.

I was going to say Kendrick Perkins until I saw Boykins being the bully on him.

Nah, the league is now all about the sucker punchers. It intimidates b/c you never know when you're gonna get blindsided with a fist. (e.g. JO suckering fan in Pistons brawl, Melo suckering Collins in Knicks brawl) It's trendy to be a hit and run b!tch these days.

Enforcers? In 2007?

That's a thing of the past. Otherwise, Steve Nash would get chucked into scorer's table every game.

Yup... DSU is taking us away from the Heat-Knicks brawls of the 90s. No one likes physical basketball anymore. More techs, flagrants, fines, etc.

His D overall may have been better than Oak. There was a time when he could guard all 5 positions and damn well... he's still showing he can guard swingmen relatively well. And have we forgotten the days when he was taking guys heads off?

I actually kind of did forget... all I remember from the Nets days were his ferocious dunks/blocks and pulling aside his jersey to show his tat hahahaha.

Then his knees broke.

If Dwight Howard wasnt so nice, he would be one of the most dominant enforcers the league would ever see...but the kid is too nice for that.

Only one I can really name is Danny Fortson, but he's not on a squad so don't know if he counts.
