Default Logical Trade Idea.....

On hoopsworld this morning, they discussed a trade with Cleveland. I'm going to add to it:

Chris Mihm/Aaron McKie/Devean George (signed and traded)

For

Damon Jones/Drew Gooden (signed and traded)

Gooden mentioned the Lakers as one of the teams (the other is Orlando) he'd prefer playing for and George has been in talks with Cleveland. In addition, the Lakers would like to sign and trade George.

I think Jones would be perfect for the triangle as he's a pick your spot type of shooter. Gooden can pull rebounds and allow Odom to experiment at the point. Think of this lineup:

Odom
Bryant
Radman
Gooden
Kwame

Bench:
Walton
Bynam
Turiaff
Jones
Smush
Sasha
Evans
Pinnock

Not too shabby?

Biggest

Bynum is 7'1 280lbs, Turiaf is 6'10, Walton 6'8, Sasha 6'7, Smush 6'4, Evans 6'5, so I think it's a pretty average sized bench, but it would be a big starting 5.

Default Flexibility

It gives them flexibility to go big or small. Depending on who they are facing, they could go:

Jones
Bryant
Odom
Radman
Brown

OR

Odom
Bryant
Radman
Gooden
Brown

I think it could be a good fit - Mitch should pull the trigger if this deal presented itself.

I just don't like Damon Jones... no D, and he needs like 10 minutes to setup for his shot....

I agree he is overrated and he had a good season 2 years ago because the diesel got him open shots.

Yea..diesel has made so many players so much better when he was with them...jones was so good bc he was open all the time because of shaq...when he was on the cavs...those shots werent always open which is why he struggled...i do believe hed be a valuable bench player...a guy who can step in and pop the long ball...and gooden would be a great addition...hes a great rebounder and gets double digit points on put backs and dunks...hes a rugged player and would definitly help the lakers down low...but i wish we still had diesell..lol

It's been mentioned in other forums that Cleveland will not welcome back Mihm in trade.

I do think that George gets signed and traded for something (packaged with Mihm) so that they can open a spot for Pinnock (who they love). It's also logical that Mitch stays pat and keeps the roster as it stands and then see how everyone gels in the season.

One things clear, Pinnock deserves a spot on the 15 man roster and get to play with NDBL for awhile. He's a talent that needs to be tapped for the future.

Cleveland says no. We don't want any of those players.

We want a Starting PF or PG and a 1st rounder for Gooden.
