Brezec playing for Slovenian squad.

Primoz Brezec checked in with BobcatsBasketball.com from Slovenia, where he is training with his country's national team in preparation for the World Championships. Slovenia is in the same group as Team USA and the two nations will meet on Aug. 22 in Sapporo, Japan.

Brezec just returned from training camp in Rogla, a mountainous area that hosts the nation's Olympic center. The Bobcats center is feeling a bit under the weather after practicing twice a day in a gym that is 100 degrees with no air conditioning. However, that didn't stop Brezec from leading Slovenia with 13 points in a 76-65 win over Poland, the first of Slovenia's 10 friendly games leading up to the World Championships.

Brezec and his teammates now travel to Turkey to play in the Efes World Cup 6 in Ankara this weekend against Lebonon, Turkey and Nigeria.


This will be good for him this year seeing as he can get NBA-ready by playing in the WC.

agree it will be good for him to get some more experience of tournament ball and guess it's sort of similar to play-off experience. Also the international game different to the NBA in style so hopefully he'll pick up a few tricks or expand his play a bit more aswell as getting fit early
