Yao - T-Mac rockets future?

So are Yao and T-mac going to lead rockets to the Finals? I'm personally McGrady fan and would want him to be succesful, even if not with the rockets. When he signed with the rockets i was eager to see how it would turn out, but things have not gone so great. Dynamic duo? Last season was filled with injuries, first Yao then t-mac's back. So i would wanna know your opinion. They played individually good ball, but they didn't have the change to really paly together the whole season. Should they trade t-mac (cause they would never trade yao). Or should they just try to get new blood to coahing staff. Or is this the season when all goes well?

I disagree with your statement about them not playing well together. Their first season together they had 50 wins and pushed a far deeper team (Mavs) to seven games in the playoffs. The only reason they lost is because Yao was in foul trouble and they didn't have a power forward capable of stopping Dirk.
Now that Yao has emerged as The dominating Big Man in the NBA and T-mac has had a whole season to heal is his back, not to mention they acquired a more traditional point guard in Rafer, a defensive specialist in Shane Battier, an athletic shooting guard in Kirk Snyder and a three point threat in Steve Novak, and Luther Head. The rockets are primed for Deep Postseason run if not the Championship. They have all the tools the Miami Heat had during their championship except Yao is younger and can hit free throws and will not be limited to 5 point games as Shaq was.

Another thing, if James Posey and Antoine Walker can shut down Dirk, I am pretty sure Shane Battier won't have much of a problem.

I agree that if Yao and Tracy are both healthy that Houston is a top team. However I don't think that they are NBA Championship contenders. The West is just too good.

I think given the limitations with spending , they should pick up another rebounder who can score, like Marcus Fizer (6-8, 260 lbs) from the D league, who played in the NBA before. If Howard get injured we don't have a 3rd string foward, who may be able to play center as well. At best one can hope he plays a little like Carlos Boozer.

Yao deserves a better teammate than T-mac, the need to trade him to a crap team so that he can hog the ball 95% of the time and nobody would care.

well it will be a long long long time before tha yao era is over in houston.... and as long as tmac is there, they have a chance at the finals

so id definately say that yes, yao+tmac = future of the rockets
