Default NBA Live or 2k8

Can someone give me the pros and cons of both games? I haven't played an NBA game since NBA live 2006. I'm getting an Xbox 360 and GH 2 and 3, I plan on getting an NBA game.

Oh yeah. Might as well get this question answered even though it's somewhat of a different topic. Is Def Jam Icon worth buying. I loved Def Jam:Fight for NY for the ps2. But I heard Icon is no where near as good as NY

NBA Live 08 = ok
NBA 2K8 = great
Def Jam Icon = garbage

basically i own all 3, of the NBA games i always play the 2K one's more, i just like the gameplay and feel its always on point with the real game! i as well play LIVE but like i said 2K is my first option, the def jam was a huge disappointment, its a joke and garbage, very repeditive, all fighters do pretty much the same moves, its nothing like the PS2 game(s)

Hopefully they make vast improvements on a new Def Jam game(if they ever make one) because Def Jam NY was by far my favorite fighting game. The realism is what definitely got me(well, except for the fact that a 160 lb skinny white guy with Eminem's voice would beat the piss out of 250 lb pure muscle black guys)

I did a review on these about 2 months ago just before the video game forum was created. I don't recall all the pros and cons, but basically 2K8 is the same as 2K7, just added a dunk contest and some updated rosters and they f'ed with the color (not in a good way, IMO).

Live has a superior commentary system, and create a player system, but beyond that, 2k8 is better in all respects. But they did make gameplay improvements to Live, and it is narrowing the gap, but it's still a pretty big gap.
