I'd say clearly the starting line up is more talented in NO. It would have to come to the bench players in which it boils down to Rasual, Pargo, and Hilton vs. Kwame, Farmar, Turiaf. this is were the Lakers may have a slight advantage but could also be their downfall. Bench outscoring you starters shown lack of chemistry for the starting unit. Also the so-so banch comparison clearly doesn't make up for the lopsided starting unti comparison. NO I think has this one.

No, this isn't a joke. I said in an earlier thread that NO was more talented than the Lakers without their star player vs. showtime. He's convinced that the Lakers are way more talented.

oh, nevermind.

I thought you were going to be a laker fanboy and make it seem like the lakers are amazing and have tons of depth, and completely ignore everything NO has going for it.

sorry.

Hornets are full of quality players. Their bench isn't that bad it's mainly just bad at coming off the bench. When Butler, Pargo, and Jackson started last year they were very effective.

Kobe definitely has less to work with if this is where the thread is coming from

You know what's funny, is that West is basically what Odom isn't good at.

NO, no doubt. Bynum is a very good player and will only get better but he's not enough to make up for the rest of the lack of talent on that team... especially since he's injured.

NOK easily.

Peja >>>>>>> Vlad
West >>>> Odom
Bynum = Chandler (Sorry Lakers fans, it's true)
Butler >>> Luke
Fish = Jackson
Farmar = Pargo

I won't even mention Kwame...

It's not close, really..

In another thread showtime was trying to validate that Chris Paul deserved more recognition than Kobe due to the fact that the Laker team had more talent and depth.
I'm not trying to amke this a who's the MVP thread. Just pointing out an argument that I was losing my mind thinking that somebody couldn't be this delusional.

Well, first of all, Crittendon wouldn't be starting at shooting guard if Bryant went down, it would than likely be Ariza, Farmar, or Vujacic. And I think a lot of people are fouling themselves into thinking that Lakers have less talent than the Hornets. It wasn't too long ago that the Lakers had the best bench production in the NBA and actually increased leads when Bryant was on the bench. The difference is that if Paul goes down Jackson and Pargo might be able to pick up his scoring load but they won't even come close to be able to pick up his playmaking ability (which in return would leave most of the offense would be useless with the exception of West). All of sudden Chandler doesn't get any of the easy looks that he gets because of Paul and Peja is getting doubled everytime he touches the ball, the offense comes to a screeching hault. If Bryant goes down, it would be tough to match his scoring exactly, but it would mean that Farmar and Odom would be given more playmaking responsibilities, which isn't a bad thing. And before everyone goes off and says "Odom's terrible" remember that he actually plays his best basketball as more of a focal point of the offense. Neither team would be a good situation, but the Lakers would be in a much better situation.

Clearly the Hornets (without Paul) are better than the Lakers (without Kobe) and anyone who says otherwise is biased or plain stupid. As someone said before, Kobe has less to work with.

You should add Cavs to the mix. Without LeBron the Cavs are the worst team in the NBA.
