Where will he go in the Next NBA Draft,

on NBADRAFT.net has him going 26 to the Lakers.

HE is not like Eddie Curry here in Australia his nickname is Baby Shaq

280 pounds. That seems too chubby for the NBA unless you're Shaq. I might take a chance on him at the end of the second round. He better condition up.

That's 1 reason why he has a Nickname of Baby Shaq,

Have you seen him play?

Nope. He looks too chubby in the YouTube video and in his profile pic for draft.net. However, his athleticism is listed at 8, so he can't be a complete slug. I wouldn't use a first rounder on him, unless I was a team like San Antonio and was in the position to take a chance.

Their pick will be late enough in the first round that they might be in position to take him. I need to watch him more in-depth, but a player like him would probably be a second round pick.

Scouts from the Lakers were seen at a South Dragons came scouting Joe Ingles, so there are definatly some Australian players being looked at.

As for Nathan Jawai, his play in the Australian leagues shouldn't be used to guage his overall play. The NBL is a guards league, with a lack of quality bigmen. He's easily able to dominate in Australia. He's 6,7 6,8 at best and weighs 280 pounds. He's kinda a duplicate of Robert Traylor.

I wouldn't be wasting a 1st round pick on him myself, but that's just me.

I honestly don't think that he's ready for the NBA.

He did jack against Paul Rogers everytime they played & fizzled out BIG time against the Breakers in the 1/4 final.

Needs another year or so to me.

Funnily enough, the last time I saw, Jawai was projected to go to Boston with the 30th pick.

I'd be really uncomfortable with my team drafting a 22 year old playing his first season of organized ball. And if I'm a GM, the Charles Oakley comparison would put me off a little - I'm not sure there's a legit spot for a guy like that in the NBA right now.

How would u know? u havent seen him play enough to predict that! He's still learning the right places to be on the court, though he's developing a nice post-up game and his moves are quite athletic for his size...i would say he needs a year in the national team playing some world class teams first just to get a bit of experience with the big boys before I was would throw him in the NBA draft...Just needs a bit of experience and court awareness and who knows, I think this kid will be good! With that said and he does do that, he would be a middle to late 1st round pick for mine, but that's a little hypothetical since we dont know for sure his future...
