... So close ...
Im a freshman on my h/s fr/soph basketball team. Im probably the best fr in my class but it doesnt take much. On a 20 player team, 15 being sophomores I dont get much playing time, but I get some.
Our school has 100 kids TOTAL in the highschool grades 9-12. Even though were one of the smallest schools in the state, we are always making it deep into the post season.
Well we destroyed everyone in our conference. Closest game was a 10-point win with about every game -except one- a 30+ point win. We finished 10-0 in conference and a 17-0 mark.
Entering a 16-team tournament, we felt pretty confident. We were the smallest school there, but ranked #1, nonetheless via our 20-0 record. There were 4 other schools there that were under 4 loss teams. Also, the schools had about 300 kids in their highschools.
We win the first 3 games easily, and make it to the championship game against the 3 seed. Were up 5 at half, but everything falls apart...
We ended up losing by 14 and 2nd in the tournament. They hit all their shots, including like 12 three's.
20-1. So close to being our schools first undeafted basketball team in history.
