OK, first off you are on the borderline of age IMO...first work on being able to move properly both linearly (forward/backward) and laterally (side to side)...an agility ladder is a great tool here, but really don't need one to the drills.
Secondly, i assume this is for basketball...whcih means you want acceleration and quickness...therefore long distance sprints over 20 yards are really for naught.
Doing pro agility drills will help as well as getting stronger with the legs, core and upper body.
Sorry for the bland post, it is late, maybe more info tomorrow.
For pure speed, you don't want to run distances over 1km IMO. Coaches usually do sliding drills side to side between lines for speed, and in volleyball even going between line and line and slide.

K its okay about post. But thank you! I've been doing sprints lately but i'll do some ladders too. and what do you mean by borderline of IMO?? haha sorry...
Sorry, jsut saw your post and on the way out here, borderline in terms of being able to go full tilt in weight training, borderline in wanting to focus on playing basketball and training for it specifically (meaning this age and younger I would be focusing on moving properly in training, letting the speed come naturally and playing mulitple sports for injury reduction and other physical improvements).
