Default France-Argentina report

without T.Parker, there was not much hope on French side and, eventually, 10 points at the end of the game (70-80) is not that bad.
Argentina looked solid : whenever the French got back to 5 or 7 points, Nocioni or Ginobili would send them backwards. Those 2 guys were extremely impressive, especially the former. I was not much thrilled by the big guys, Scola being a bit shy.
On the french side, TP's substitute Jeanneau was lost and soon back on the bench. Then entered Bokolo, 20, and I'm sure the scouts of the world took good notice how good this incredibly energetic PG could be. Pietrus Florent, PF, was easily the best French on the floor. I know 6 feet 6 or 7 is short for the NBA but this one deserves a spot. The other ones were average : diaw and gelabele could not compensate for TP's offensive game.

next games : argentina is solid. They may lose vs Spain or Greece, but i can't see how the US could beat them. They just don't have enough front court offensive weapons, and Nocioni/Ginobili will no doubt outclass Wade/James.
France : a quarter final would be nice. semis are out of reach

France 65 - Serbia 61

Boris Diaw took his responsabilities at the end of the game.
Darko was brilliant from time to time, though he took too many outside shots. He was alone though, Rakocevic being the only other offensive weapon of the serbs. Eventually, France's defense prevailed.

Well you could say he showed great technique, but how stupid was he! In the post he was impressive, but he was taking some ridiculous shots...

Agreed : all in all, what a talent...
I was less than impressed by NBA hopefuls tripkovic and perovic, by the way.
