Beasley's official height

he was officially measured at 6'8 1/4... it is pretty clear that he is more of a SF than PF... he will be lucky to average 8 boards in NBA....

Lets be honest here, 6-8 1/4 isnt bad when you can play above the rim like Beasley. I think 8 boards will be easily averaged this season. I'd say he be lucky to average 11-12 rpg in his rookie season. I can definitely see 10 boards a game in his rookie season.

he's listed as 6'7 w/o shoes and like 6'8 1/4 w/ shoes, but he does have a 7 foot span which is impressive,

rose was listed as 6 1/2 w/o shoes and 6'3 w/ shoes with a whopping! 6'8 wingspan! that means he could still grow! if he can grow about 1 1/2 inches that would be perfect!

He is taller and stronger than Tyrus.

There are NO doubts that Beasley can play the 4 in the NBA. Seriously, 6'8" is a very solid size for a PF in the NBA, and Beasley is more versitile than almost any big in the NBA already.

Why is this even being brought up? He is taller than Elton Brand.

If you'd ask me, here is what I would say would be ideal heights for each position
PG - 6'2"-6'4"
SG - 6'3"-6'6"
SF - 6'5"-6'8"
PF - 6'8"-6'10"
C - 6'10"-7'+

no way he averages 52% from the field this year... I saw a person on this board say he is taller than Boozer.. first of all he isn't and second of all Boozer is 250.... this guy will never be more than 225... he is smaller than Lebron.... could you see Lebron playing PF???

If LeBron wanted to, hell yes.
But it'd be a waste of his talent (taking the ball out of his hands)
FYI, Boozer was measured at under 6'8" out of Duke.
Many believed, like you do about Beasley, that he was "too short" to play PF in the NBA, so he dropped into the second round.
How many GM's kick themselves everyday for that mistake?
And Beasley has way more offensive skill than Boozer did out of college, way more. I don't know how much you saw of him, but I'm telling you, he is stud.
He can score with his back to the basket or away from it equally well. He's one of the quickest I've ever seen off his feet, and he has long arms, and a desire to get the ball, so He'll be hellacious on both the offensive and defensive glass. He's freakishly athletic and can use either hand equally well.
That's hard to teach. The only knocks on him are that he doens't play much D, but I don't think he was asked to, he has the skillset to be a good defender, and he sometimes like to shoot from outside a little too much, and is more effective closer to the basket.

Has any player averaged 26 pts and 12 reb in their freshmen year in college? Because Beasley did. Beasley is a stud and is going to tear the NBA up just because he wills the ball into the basket. While many people don't like his attitude, I think it's similar to Shaq's. He knows he is good, and backs it up - but he wants to win and have fun, how can you bash on a guy's personallity who just wants to win and have fun?
