Draft Steals? - Message Board Basketball Forum

BC has been "rumored" to be shopping the 17 pick in an attempt to move up or acquire a solid, proven player in return. However, this draft has many guys projected in the 2nd round that could be major steals for us.

Steals IMO:

Semih Erden - good versatile big man who can actually REBOUND
DeVon Hardin - a beast athletically, crashes boards recklessly, good shot blocking
Joey Dorsey - doesnt have great size to be a big, but is a fierce paint player.

no surprise theyre all bigmen, as the second round will probably consist of primarily wing players, but Gary Forbes is a player and could be a steal in the 2nd round.
PLEASE BC acquire a 2nd round pick(or two)

What do you guys think, these are just my own preferences...

I read an article that something like 8 players over the last 10 years have become studs out of the 2nd round.

As much as I would like the idea of a 2nd rounder, we can't use up too much money and roster spots on those guys in my opinion.

I'd like to see us stop signing the Maceo Bastons and use 2nd rounder instead and send these guys to the d-league.

Speaking of developing 2nd rounders....anyone have any news or updates on Ukic or Printezis?

Dont expect to see them anytime soon, i know Ukic's current club is willing to offer him three more yrs. Ukic wanted the raptors to pick him were they picked Joey Graham. I dont regret the raps not picking him there (I do regret that we didnt go with Granger) because Ukic really wanted to guarentee'd money to make a major move.

As for Printezis, I havent even heard whispers about him starting his NBA journey just yet. The guy sounds alot like Uros Slokar from a couple years back. Dont expect much from him.
