Default Bulls hire their assistant coaches

The Chicago Bulls announced today that Del Harris, Bernie Bickerstaff & Bob Ociepka will be hired as assistant coaches on Vinny Del Negro’s coaching staff. In addition, Pete Myers will remain in his current role as assistant coach. In accordance with club policy, terms of the contracts were not announced.

At least Del Negro realizes he needs some veteran coaches to back him up. If he listens to guys like Harris, he should be ok even though he has no real experience.

Yeah, VDN's staff really is a strong one.

If your going to hire a rookie coach then hiring an extremely experienced coaching staff around him, is the ONLY way to go.

This staff I personally think, will be the best coaching staff in Chicago since Phil left in 98'.

Yeah that's why I kind of want to see if maybe this coaching staff can help turn THIS Bulls team around instead of having to blow up the entire team except for Rose.

I couldn't be happier with the choices. Del Harris and Bickerstaff?! Wow, we're so in the money. Del Negro is an open minded, free spirited individual (who is the opposite of the up tight, in the box skiles) who should thrive with Chicago's young players and Paxson is aware of this. But surrounding Del Negro with all of these provens will only help the Bulls. Del Negro said he's not even assigning them as defensive or offensive assistants. He said that they have so much knowledge that he's not going to limit them by putting them into a specific role.
