Nets Trade M. Williams to Golden State for Future First Rounder
July 22, 2008, 12:09 pm
The Nets will announce Tuesday that they have traded Marcus Williams to the Warriors for Golden State’s first round draft pick in 2011, with lottery protection. Williams, despite the Keyon Dooling acquisition, still believed he had a role on the Nets. The move leaves 15 contracts, not including Keith Van Horn or Nenad Krstic, on the books for 2008-09.
He will be missed here. but now Ellis can go back to SG. When Marcus gets time he will be a beast. he had a 27 point game against PHO.... because he got playing time. Playing time is the key. Marcus is compared to Steve Nash by a lot of people. I hope he does swell here in The Bay Area

I think the Warriors got a bargain for Williams. He never really got minutes in NJ and he was a top talent heading into his draft.

Just gotta watch the team laptops in the locker room. He may want to steal one...

i always wanted to see Marcu Williams play more time...he's one of my fav PG's in the league...if he'll be a starter and play over 30 min per night i say he'll average a double-double this season

I still remember when he got drafted and the guys at ESPN were like "The Nets getting Marcus Williams with the 22nd pick was a steal, no pun intended." I think the same line applies here to the Warriors.

Thumbs up Re: Enjoy Marcus Williams

I'm glad that u guys got Marcus Williams; been a fan of his ever since he was at UConn under Calhoun w/Gay and everybody else. He's gonna flourish under Don Nelson's system, and he's gonna take a lotta pressure off of Monta and develop Wright n Randolph into studs; trust me, u guys got a pg who's gonna make everybody on the team alot better, especially under Nellie
Best of luck 2u guys n Oakland this season

Don't know how much playing time he'll get. But I think he's pretty injury prone, right? I don't know much about him, is he a pass or shoot first guard and what are his strengths?

He's a weird kind of PG.

One game he has a passing game where he'll give you 8+ assists. The other game he has a scoring surge 15+ points which is pretty good for him. And one game he'll just go 0-6 from the field, and have like 5 turnovers. Maybe he'll change here and always be consistent.

I like him if he stays healthy. Health is the biggest question woth him, not talent.
