yeah they keep saying that hunter hasnt mad a decision, but this either means a trade of chancy is imminent or they've made the decision for him. Still dont know enough about the kid, seems a little small, but he's got a scorer's rep. Frankly, I still hope theo comes back for the vet's minimum.
Yeah, that would cut into Amir's minutes a bit but I also expect that Sheed doesn't get the same time he used to. They will save him more for the playoffs and let the younger guys develop. We already know Maxiell is getting more time and if there is no trade will be the starter at PF opening day. More than anything that would hurt Samb. He has a legit chance of making the roster now. If they pick up another center he will have another year in the D-league. I don't think Ratliff is going to be back anyway. I think they would give Samb a shot first. I think they would keep Ratliff on the back burner in case of an injury. They could sign him for the vets minimum part way through the season.
Okafor just committed to a long term deal a few weeks ago… prior to that signing, I would have considered that trade… The Pistons feel confident in letting Stuckey run the point, and Okafor is a pretty decent front court player… not the greatest but a very serviceable player whom likely would have flourished here…
I don't think anybody wants Chauncey gone necessarily. The fact of the matter is we have Stuckey who is going to be great and there are a lot of teams who need a PG so Chauncey is in every rumor. If we hypothetically say the Okafur thing again, he is a good player who is much younger. That would have potentially been a good deal. Joe D probably would have done it. The Bobcats obviously didn't like it and they locked Okafur up.
Of course we don't know what the draft situation looks like exactly yet too. More than likely we will end up with a Center and they probably will want to keep Bynum around. If there's an opportunity where they can draft a good young PG they will though. They more than likely won't draft a SG, SF, or PF since we have a ton of people who can play those positions.
