Default Batum Signed

Amount was not disclosed, but he is officially playing for us this year (barely I assume).

Default Re: Batum Signed

I would've prefered sending him back to Europe for a few years and sign Bernard Robinson who is a pretty good perimeter defender and man to man defender, something we need off the bench from our wing players.

I think the thought is that the Blazer staff can develop him into what we need more than training staffs overseas.

Batum is still a year or two out from providing the Blazers with good consistent minutes but I am glad they kept him in Portland rather than let him go back to Europe. He needs to learn how to play more aggressive and because they focus more on player development in the NBA (For players Batums age) hell get the best teaching in Portland.

Yeah, now the only concern about signing Koponen is that if we come across a veteran free agent, we'd have to release somebody (thus paying them for nothing).

Well I think if we sign Kopponen then KP will have already made up his mind about the rest of the talent on the open market.

Anyone besides me think that we might be working on some kind of a 2-3 player for one player and trade exception trade?

I don't expect any trades before the season starts. Maybe closer to the trade deadline.
