Default Plain Dealer article on Delonte West

I think the guy is dead on with his assessment. I realize people have families to take care and such, but isn't the NBA the ultimate dream? Even a "small" contract doesn't make you broke. And, if you perform, the money will take care of itself in the end. I hope guys leaving for overseas doesn't become a trend.

Delonte is a nice player, one who I have great hopes for this upcoming season. I think he would be making a mistake. He can play with the greatest young superstar in the game, and make a name for himself, or he can go overseas, make a little bit more money, but be forgotten about. Seems like an easy choice to me.

Interesting, though, that after scanning some articles, that the NBA doesn't feel threatened by this. It helps enhance their "worldwide marketing."
