Re: Paul's Celebrity bowling event to be televised
Ludacris, David Banner and Hot Stylz will perform a charity concert for CP3's Winston-Salem weekend.
Quote:
The last time that rapper Ludacris was in Winston-Salem, tickets were about $30.
This time around, they will be as low as $10.
Ludacris will perform Sept. 18 at Joel Coliseum during the third annual Chris Paul's Winston-Salem Weekend. Also performing will be David Banner, who just released his fifth CD, The Greatest Story Ever Told, and Chicago rap group Hot Stylz, best known for its hit song "Lookin' Boy," featuring Yung Joc.
The weekend program is a fundraiser for Paul's CP3 Foundation, which supports local programs and charities. Paul, a former basketball standout at Wake Forest, now plays for the New Orleans Hornets. He is in Beijing, playing for the U.S. Olympic basketball team, which beat Greece yesterday.
Paul wanted to provide more public activities during the weekend, and offering a concert featuring some of the hottest names in hip-hop seemed like a good idea, said Tom George, who is helping market the concert. Paul also wanted the concert to be a sort of gift to the community, and that's why the prices are lower than for similar kinds of shows, he said.
