I’m done hearing how much better this generation is than years past. I’m watching a 5 foot nothing HVAC technician have his way against a Celtics team who’s playoff net rating is in par with the likes of the 96 Bulls, 01 Lakers, and 17 Warriors. LOL.

All the greats didn't win until they were about 27. Tatum is far ahead of the curve.

The attention spans of kids nowadays is so short I doubt they'd even watch a 13 minute highlight video of Michael Jordan or Larry Bird.

And he's only 25. Must be the best start for a non all time great franchise player?
For example, even an ATG like Hakeem made only 1 conference finals and 1 finals in his first 7 years.

One thing for sure. They’re about to be the only finals team I don’t remember a single play of. I saw a replay of Browns three, but I didn’t watch much of that game. Largely for injury reasons there has been no reason to pay attention to any series they have been in. If the heat bucks, Knicks or even Cavs were healthy, maybe we would be having a...

You got the script? They're champs already?
Also, all your points can be disproven if they win the Finals.
They'd beat a good Mavericks team.
Tatum could play really well and win FMVP averaging something like 28/10/7.
Jaylen is also more a 1B option than a 2nd option. He probably gets the ECF MVP is they beat the Pacers.

Seems many of them don't know or care what a "goat" is. They just say who their favorite players are.
Fair enough cause most of them are not nerds who take these things too seriously.

It's just the fact that they have had the easiest path to the finals of my memory. They will have to earn it in the finals, but it's not like the Mavs are some historical team either. They were like 30/1 to win it once the playoffs start. With Lively being hurt now, who knows.
Boston will win, they're absolutely an awful matchup for the Mavs....

I'm not even that old, but around 5 years ago I was talking to a teen who lives on my block, we were talking sports and I asked him if he knew who Barry Bonds was and he had no idea. That kinda blew my mind.

Id be Shocked if they did. I’ve shown high school seniors going to play ball in college Lakers shaq and they had never seen him before. Kids don’t care about anything before them. Not most of them at least.

they're just boring in general as a basketball team in 2024.
tatum has no personality/overrated and is still living off the hype of dunking over LeBron...
Luka on the other hand...exciting, just phenomenal to watch. And he has a personality, with all the talent in the world to back up whatever sh1t he wants to...

As if now I will call them young fans. They are internationals and guys who played a little college. I doubt they would claim to have up close knowledge of most of these people. I’d be surprised if more than one had even met Kevin Durant.
What they think does mirror my personal experience with young players in recent years. I’m surprised none...

You mean making the finals every year till he went to LA? Yeah that chemistry was dope, imagine if a player made the finals in every city he played for AND won at least a chip and Fmvp? With different coaches, different casts, different styles and the only constant being Lebron. Wow.

Those guys didn't even watch Kobe. To be perfectly blunt they didn't even watch prime LeBron with any semblance of understanding as to what they were consuming. It's very likely they are all regurgitating other people's opinions and that's it.
