I'm not sure who's a truly better GM but when it come to trades Ainge should be forced to use lubricant. To build these Celtics he didn't just get good players but he set Brooklyn and Philly backwards. Both of those teams arguably should have Tatum and Brown right now. Philly not having Brown can't really be accredited to Ainge but can you...

Seems true if people were to look at the history of some main guys in that heat team. Wade, for instance, already had a ring and finals mvp in his resume when the trio was formed rt.

Bosh was hurt for a lot of the 2012 playoffs, including against the Celtics :whatever:

Celtics played bums on their way to the Finals and Porzingis dominated game 1 in his limited minutes vs Dallas. And I expect him to continue to play, doctors say it's a pain tolerance thing.
And this is simply false. Bosh missed tons of big games during their 2012 run.

Prime Bosh was a lot luckier with health. If KP stayed healthy he's probably an allstar, possibly AllNBA. Celtics had to win the East without him and may have to go for the last two wins vs Dallas without him. Miami didn't have such a hard time keeping Bosh on the court until after the Heatles broke up.

Brown and Tatum are not that good as far as superstar duo goes.
It's more about getting Derrick White, Porzingis, Jrue.

Silver had a statement today acknowledging Seattle, Vegas, and Mexico City as cities being talked about. We all know the first two will be next but I didn’t think it would actually get down to Mexico. Mexico, Central America and South America have some issues I feel like would make it hard. The NFL preseason game being played in Brazil has crazy...

No one is going to have more than three guys play a major role in the offense consistently. In Boston the the big scorers get 20+ and then you see White average 15 and you're wowed but remember that Porzingis misses about a third of the games. When your top scorers have it going you're really just hoping that the rest of your players are...

Ainge sent the haul that gave the Celtics the picks to draft Brown and Tatum.
Brad acquired the pieces to help solidify this team, including getting rid of Smart, which many Celtics fans disagreed with at the time.
Lots of credit can go both ways. Who do you think deserves more credit?

I was just watching ESPN and saw that in game 2 Luka got blown by on defense...13 times...which is the most in the playoffs of the last 10 seasons.

What brings the Celtics down is that they don't have that bonified superstar who is a top 3 player, but if you look at the roster from top to bottom, they are pretty stacked. Almost unfair to have Porzingis, Holiday, & White as your #3-#5 guys.
LeBron's miami teams #4 and #5 options were a 37 year old Ray Allen & Mario Chalmers, both clearly...

This year's Celtics don't belong in this conversation. I personally believe that JB deserves more respect but this year's team only had 1 AllNBA player and plenty of people don't think he's top 5. Doesn't compare to a team with prime James and Wade.
The current Celtics could give them a hard time mainly due to playing style with all the threes...

Disagree.
Longevity is actually overrated. NBA is a young man and grown man's sport. Not an old man's sport.
No nutrition. tech. training. medical care will get you back to 28-32. reverse your age. Also, Testo level decreases every year starting age 25!
Many dont like to admit it. Testo level also effects brain function and mentality....

He also said the Celtics would win the Finals due to Tatum's "expert jumpshooting", when they've won the first 2 games with Tatum going 12/38.

Yeah, I find the longevity angle extremely disingenuous. People try to act like he's Karl Malone, but like you said, LeBron at his peak is still easily one of the 3-5 greatest players ever, and was either the best player in the league or in legitimate discussion for it for over a decade (2009-2020).

The whole longevity thing with Lebron is downplaying the fact that the dude had a top 5, and arguably top 3 peak, of all time.
The fact the Lebron is a clear tier or two below his peak, yet still a top 10 player at 40, proves this.
Basically you are asking do you want a 9.9 (MJ) for 11 years or do you want a 9.8 (Lebron) for 15 years?

Both are important, though peak play holds considerably more weight for me. As long as one sustains their dominance long enough to prove they're not a fluke or one-trick pony, I won't penalize them for relatively shorter primes (e.g., Larry Bird).
Longevity, like many aspects, is especially tricky to compare across eras. Training, nutrition,...

Yep in this case it’s a debate over which mj year is better not trying to discredit him but I guess disagreeing with mj is discrediting him. If we’re being reasonable Phil Jackson and Jerry Krauses opinions matter significantly more here. They’re the ones who coached and built a dynasty they know how to evaluate talent.
I bet if you asked...
