Hornets trade Scotty Hopson to Pelicans

Charlotte Hornets General Manager Rich Cho announced today that the team has traded guard Scotty Hopson to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for cash considerations.

Hopson (6-7, 204) appeared in two games for the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2013-14 season prior to being traded to Charlotte. The University of Tennessee product played 12 games for the Anadolu Efes in the Turkish Basketball League in 2013-14 and averaged 7.2 points and 2.6 rebounds in 21.6 minutes per game. He also appeared in 11 Euroleague games for the Anadolu Efes, where he averaged 15.5 points and 4.2 rebounds in 28.2 minutes per game.

Originally an undrafted free agent in the 2011 NBA Draft, Hopson spent the 2011-12 season in the Greek League with the Kolossos Rodou and the 2012-13 season with Hapo el Eilat of the Isreali League.
