Pistons waive Ryan Boatright

The Detroit Pistons announced today that the team has requested waivers on guard Ryan Boatright.

A 6’0”, 170-pound guard, Boatright went undrafted out of Connecticut in the 2015 NBA Draft and signed with the Pistons on October 23. In four preseason games with the Brooklyn Nets, Boatright averaged 4.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 13.9 minutes per game.

Wizards waive Josh Harrellson, Jaron Johnson, Toure Murry, Jaleel Roberts, Ish Smith

The Washington Wizards announced today that the team has waived center Josh Harrellson, guards Jaron Johnson and Toure Murry, center Jaleel Roberts and guard Ish Smith.

Harrellson appeared in seven preseason games, recording 27 points and 12 rebounds over 51 minutes. Johnson played in six preseason games and totaled 12 points in 28 minutes. Murry appeared in four preseason games and tallied 14 points in 30 minutes. Roberts played in three preseason games and totaled 10 points and three rebounds in 21 minutes. Smith made five appearances in the preseason and tallied 11 points and 20 assists in 57 minutes.

Nuggets waive Nick Johnson, Oleksiy Pecherov, Devin Sweetney

The Denver Nuggets have waived Nick Johnson, Oleksiy Pecherov and Devin Sweetney, General Manager and Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly announced today.

Johnson, 6-3, 202, appeared in six games (one start) for Denver in the preseason, averaging 2.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 17.7 minutes per game.

Pecherov, 7-0, 232, appeared one preseason game for Denver, averaging 6.0 points and 1.0 rebounds in 7.4 minutes per game.

Sweetney, 6-6, 200, played in four preseason games for Denver, averaging 1.3 points in 3.3 minutes per game.

The Nuggets roster now stands at 15 players.

Grizzlies waive Sampson Carter, Yakhouba Diawara, Lazeric Jones, Alex Stepheson

The Memphis Grizzlies waived forward Sampson Carter, guard/forward Yakhouba Diawara, guard Lazeric Jones and forward/center Alex Stepheson, the team announced today.

Carter (6-8, 220) played six preseason games for the Grizzlies, averaging 1.0 points and 0.8 rebounds in 6.0 minutes. The 25-year-old originally was signed by Memphis on Oct. 6.

Diawara (6-7, 225) made six preseason appearances for Memphis, recording 2.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in 16.0 minutes. The 33-year-old originally was signed by the Grizzlies on Sept. 28.

Jones (6-0, 187) played six preseason contests for Memphis, tallying 5.8 points and 1.7 assists in 14.3 minutes. The 25-year-old originally was signed by the Grizzlies on Sept. 28.

Stepheson (6-10, 270) logged three preseason appearances for the Grizzlies, registering 2.3 points and 6.0 rebounds in 9.2 minutes. The 28-year-old originally was signed by Memphis on Oct. 7.

The Grizzlies’ roster currently stands at 16 players.

Celtics waive Perry Jones III and Corey Walden

The Boston Celtics announced today that they have waived forward Perry Jones III and guard Corey Walden.

Jones, a 6’11” forward, was originally acquired by the Celtics on July 14, 2015 and averaged 2.0 points and 1.6 rebounds in 8.3 minutes per game in five appearances with the team.

Walden, a 6’2” guard was originally signed by the Celtics on September 25, 2015 and averaged .5 points, 1.5 rebounds and .8 assists in 6.9 minutes per game in four contests with the team.

The Celtics roster now stands at 15.

Heat waive Keith Benson, Tre Kelley, John Lucas III, Briante Weber, Greg Whittington

The Miami HEAT announced today that they have waived center Keith Benson, guards Tre Kelley, John Lucas III and Briante Weber and forward Greg Whittington. With these moves the HEAT roster now stands at 15 players.

Benson, who was signed as a free agent on Aug. 25, appeared in five preseason contests (one start) with the HEAT and averaged 5.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 11.8 minutes.

Kelley, who was signed as a free agent on Sept. 28, came off the bench in both games in which he appeared this preseason and averaged 3.5 points, 4.0 assists and 13.8 minutes.

Lucas III, a seven-year NBA veteran who was signed as a free agent on Sept. 28, appeared in one game and was scoreless with two rebounds and one assist in 16 minutes.

Whittington, who played on the HEAT’s summer league team this year and was signed as an undrafted free agent on Sept. 3, came off the bench in all four games in which he appeared and averaged 2.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 16.1 minutes.

Weber, who was signed as an undrafted free agent on Oct. 19, did not appear in a preseason game.
