Brown guarded Doncic and had him on skates. Don’t matter what stats you bring up. The people who watched know.

Horford was low key the most important player for Celtics.
He straight up dominated Gafford at age 38 and hit all the important 3 pointers.
Horford is probably the most impactful 38 year old I've seen play since Duncan.
I see Horford intends to play one more season for Celtics. I think that's good for Celtics. To me he is their clear...

Team success has nothing to do with individual talent. Tatum has had loaded teams his whole career.

Yea these metrics are supposed to not be affected by teammates and do decently at assigning credit to each guy. There’s a lot of math that goes into that I’m no expert in but this is what I read. Also kawhi, lebron, Giannis also played with elite defenders

As a player Mazzulla led West Virginia past John Wall and Demarcus Cousins in the NCAA tournament. He scored 17 points and on a few possessions even defended Cousins.

I have to look more into it. But even if it’s “accounting” for it, it’s not perfect. And if Steph is on the floor with elite defenders he’s naturally gonna play better individual defense, it makes it easier for him.

To be fair, Pierce didn't have much success as the main franchise player in Boston, only made the playoffs one time in a 4 season span from '04-'07 in a shitty East until KG and Ray showed up.

That's a pretty ridiculous qualifier, not many players have played in 4 finals.

In any NBA finals you will have the best team in the NBA playing against arguably the second best team in the NBA. Not always but very often the man that leads the Finals in scoring has a strong contingent of fans that would argue he's the best player in the NBA and that player was legit mvp candidate. That is not "just an above average player."...

Of the last 40 years worth of Finals, Brown ranks only 33rd in scoring because he's clearly just an above average player on a stacked team.
I'd slow down there, guy.

Tatum will never win an MVP. He might get an FMVP, maybe.
The Celtics are too good and he isn't head and shoulders above his teammates. The rest of the league would have to die in plane crashes for Jayson Tatum to get a regular season MVP.
If Tatum gets drafted to another franchise you aren't saying any of the bullshit you are now because it...

Basketball is a game that evolved like any other sport. Teams and players of the modern day will always be thought to generally be the best ever seen. No one says George Mikan is the best center ever.

In my opinion he’s not getting overvalued on defense, it’s a byproduct of him being able to inflate defensive oriented guys offensively a large amount.
Combine that with point guard being the easiest place to “hide” a defender.
What I’m saying is Curry’s team boost on offense gives his team defense boost as well, because they are able to...

Unfortunately he would have been hurt and that's major. The Celtics will be paying Brown 300 mil and absolutely would not trade him for Butler.

He's never missed the postseason yet. Well, he and his team almost did during the play-ins three years ago but they've improved big time after that.

AllNBA awards and championships are inflated stats? And do people care about that when they declare Curry and Thompson the two greatest shooters ever? Do you think Bird or West should get the #1 spot?

I think numbers will always kinda underrate curry though not to call other stars statpadders. Also unlike in 15,16 gs had an elite offense in playoffs in 22. Some of that is supporting cast being better but I give curry a lot of credit for that. Poole Wiggins etc aren’t big needle movers. I have playoff epm for those years.

I'm curious what you base that on. If it's him winning with the least talented supporting cast, I'd agree with that. But if it's based off performance, no way in HELL was Curry better than Jokic, while Giannis has a clear advantage to me too. I feel you could also make genuine arguments for Kawhi & LeBron/AD as well, though I understand the L.A....
