Warriors waive Chris Babb, Jarell Eddie, Xavier Henry, Chris Udofia

The Golden State Warriors have waived guard Chris Babb, guard/forwards Jarell Eddie and Xavier Henry and forward Chris Udofia, the team announced today. The Warriors’ roster currently stands at 15 players.

Babb appeared in five preseason games for Golden State, averaging 2.6 points in 11.4 minutes. Eddie saw action in two preseason contests, tallying 4.5 points, 1.5 assists and 1.0 rebounds in 10.1 minutes. Both players were signed by the Warriors on September 25.

Henry and Udofia were signed by the Warriors on October 19 and did not appear in a preseason game.

Trail Blazers waive Phil Pressey and Omari Johnson

The Portland Trail Blazers have waived guard Phil Pressey and forward Omari Johnson, it was announced today by president of basketball operations Neil Olshey.

Pressey appeared in four preseason games for Portland, averaging 4.8 points and 2.0 assists.

Johnson also appeared in four preseason games averaging 2.3 points and 1.0 rebounds per game for the Trail Blazers.

Portland’s roster now stands at 15.

Pistons waive Cartier Martin, Adonis Thomas, Jordan Bachynski

The Detroit Pistons have requested waivers on forward Cartier Martin, guard/forward Adonis Thomas and center Jordan Bachynski.

Martin signed with the Pistons as a free agent on August 18, 2014. In 23 games with Detroit, he averaged 1.6 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.5 assists in 8.6 minutes per game. In 243 career NBA games (15 starts) with Charlotte, Golden State, Washington, Atlanta, Chicago and Detroit, Martin has averages of 5.1 points, 1.9 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 13.8 minutes per game. The 6-foot-7, 220 pound forward played professionally in Turkey (2007-08), Italy (2009) and China (2011-12) and also played in the NBA Development League with the Iowa Energy (2008-09), (2009-10), (2012). Martin went undrafted in the 2007 NBA Draft out of Kansas State University.

Thomas was signed on July 23, 2015 after spending last season with the Grand Rapids Drive, the Pistons’ NBA Development League affiliate. In one preseason game with the Pistons, he recorded two points and one assist in 10 minutes. Thomas spent two seasons in the D-League, where he averaged 18.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 85 games with the Grand Rapids Drive and the Springfield Armor. He’s seen action in six career NBA games with Orlando and Philadelphia during the 2013-14 season and averaged 2.3 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.5 assists.

Bachynski was signed to the training camp roster on September 28. In two preseason games, he totaled six points and one rebound in six minutes. The 7-foot-2, 248-pound center split time last season between the Westchester Knicks of the NBA’s Developmental League and Eskisehir Basket of the Turkish Basketball League. Bachynski played collegiately at Arizona State and went undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft.

Los Angeles Lakers starting guard Jordan Clarkson suffered a shoulder injury during his team’s 136-97 preseason loss to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, placing his status for next week’s regular-season opener in question.

“Obviously [the injury] puts a damper on the way we want to start the season,” Lakers coach Byron Scott said. “It might be without [Clarkson], next Wednesday, so we’ll just have to wait and see.”

The Lakers open their season Oct. 28 against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Staples Center.

Thunder sign Michael Cobbins and Mustapha Farrakhan

The Oklahoma City Thunder signed forward Michael Cobbins and guard Mustapha Farrakhan, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.

We will assume the deals are non-guaranteed.

Cobbins (6-8, 230), joins the Thunder after a collegiate career at Oklahoma State where he appeared in 105 games and averaged 5.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 25.4 minutes per game. A two-time member of the Big 12 All-Defensive Team, Cobbins ranked second in the conference in blocks per game (1.83) during his senior season.

Farrakhan (6-4, 175), spent the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons in the NBA D-League, averaging 8.0 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 18.3 minutes in 70 games with four teams. The University of Virginia product most recently played overseas with Melbourne United in Australia in 2013-14, recording averages of 10.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 20.8 minutes.

The Oklahoma City Thunder roster now stands at 17.

Kings waive David Stockton

The Sacramento Kings announced today they have waived guard David Stockton, according to Kings Vice President and General Manager Vlade Divac. The Kings roster stands at 15. Stockton totaled four points (1-7 FG, 0-1 3pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and four assists in 16 minutes off the bench in three preseason contests with the Kings.

Spurs sign Julian Washburn

The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have signed forward Julian Washburn.

Until it is reported otherwise, we will assume it is a non-guaranteed deal.

Washburn, 6-8/210, recently concluded a four-year career at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), where he averaged 11.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 34.2 minutes over 130 career games. He finished first in school history in total minutes (4,448), fourth in field goals (592) and sixth in scoring (1,526 points).

Thunder waive Michael Qualls, Julyan Stone, Dez Wells, Talib Zanna

The Oklahoma City Thunder waived guards Michael Qualls, Julyan Stone and Dez Wells along with forward Talib Zanna, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.

Stone appeared in one preseason game with the Thunder and recorded one rebound while logging four minutes of action.

Wells saw action in one preseason game and tallied one point and one steal in five minutes of play.

Zanna played in four preseason games for Oklahoma City and averaged 2.0 points and 1.5 rebounds in 5.9 minutes.

Qualls did not make a preseason appearance for the Thunder.
