The Indiana Pacers announced they have waived center Kevin Seraphin.
Seraphin played in 49 games last season, starting in three games. He averaged 4.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. He was signed as a free agent by the Pacers last September.

New Indiana Pacers uniforms revealed
Here’s a Pacers news announcement:
As they prepare to begin their next 50 years, the Indiana Pacers Friday night unveiled new uniforms, a new on-court logo and a new brand platform during the River West StreetFest on the city’s Westside.
In partnership with the National Basketball Association’s new agreement with Nike as the official apparel provider, the Pacers unveiled their “Association” (white) and “Icon” (navy) uniforms.
The Pacers also displayed their new logo that features an outline of the state of Indiana as well as a new brand platform, “We Grow Basketball Here.”
“As we enter our 51st season, we wanted to create a uniform that stayed true to our traditional roots while becoming a bit more modern in the process,” said Todd Taylor, chief marketing officer for Pacers Sports & Entertainment. “We believe the new uniform with both modern and traditional elements is the balance we were looking for.”
As for the new slogan and logo, Taylor remarked, “Indiana is basketball. As a state, we have a very rich history and tradition. And as the state’s NBA team, we want to nurture the continued growth of basketball – across all levels and throughout the state – to inspire the spirit and passion deeply rooted in our game.”
Pacers players, including returning starting center Myles Turner, guard Lance Stephenson, forward Glenn Robinson III, first-round draft choice T.J. Leaf and second-round selection Ike Anigbogu joined in the StreetFest festivities on the city’s near Westside. The new Pacemates squad, mascot Boomer and the Power Pack, Boom Babies and the High Octane Drum Line also performed.
Stephenson said he likes the new uniforms. “It’s a great new look for the new look Pacers,” he said. “They fit great, they feel great. I think fans are really going to like them. I like them so much I’m going to buy my own jersey.”
Turner agreed. “I think Nike did a really good job with the look of the whole uniform, from the shorts to the tops,” he said. “Aside from the look, they did their homework into making them comfortable for the players. These uniforms are going to be very popular.”
Pacers waive Georges Niang
The Indiana Pacers on Friday waived forward Georges Niang.
Niang was selected by Indiana with the 50th overall pick in the second round of the 2016 NBA Draft, and recorded a total of 21 points and 17 rebounds over 23 games during his rookie season with the Pacers.
Niang also made six regular season starts for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the Pacers’ affiliate in the NBA Gatorade League, and averaged 19.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.2 steals per game
Raptors trade Cory Joseph to Pacers

The Raptors have acquired the draft rights to forward Emir Preldzic (PRELD-zich) from the Pacers in exchange for guard Cory Joseph.
Preldzic, 6-foot-9, 220 pounds, began playing professionally in 2003 and spent eight seasons (2007-15) with Fenerbahçe Ülker (Turkey) of the EuroLeague. He played the past two seasons with Darüşşafaka (2015-16) and Galatasaray (2016-17) in the Turkish League.
Preldzic, a native of Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, was selected 57th overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 2009 NBA Draft. His draft rights have also been held by Cleveland, Washington, Dallas and Indiana.
Joseph averaged 8.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists during 160 regular-season games (26 starts) over two seasons with Toronto. He averaged 8.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 30 playoff games.
Joseph, a native of Pickering, Ontario, was the second Canadian to appear in an NBA game for the Raptors. He signed as a free-agent July 9, 2015.
Pacers sign Darren Collison
The Indiana Pacers have signed free agent Darren Collison to a contract.
According to multiple reports, the deal is for two years, $20 million.
Collison returns to the Pacers where he played two seasons from 2010-12. In those two seasons with the Pacers he averaged 11.9 points and 5.0 assists over 139 games (135 starts). Collison also played in 16 playoff games in his two seasons with the Pacers, averaging 8.9 points and 3.3 assists per game.
“Having had Darren here in the past, we obviously knew what we were getting, both on the floor and in the locker room,” said Pacers President of Basketball Operations Kevin Pritchard. “When you bring in a player like Darren, you know you’re not only getting a point guard, you’re adding a veteran presence to your team.”
Collison was drafted as the 21st overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft by New Orleans. As a rookie in New Orleans, he was named to the 2009-10 NBA All-Rookie First Team. He is an eight-year veteran of the NBA with career averages of 12.7 points and 4.8 assists per game. Prior to the NBA, he played four years at UCLA.
Pacers waive Rakeem Christmas
The Indiana Pacers have waived forward Rakeem Christmas.
Christmas appeared in 30 games and averaged 2.1 points and 1.9 rebounds per game over his two seasons with the Pacers.
Pacers trade Paul George to Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder has acquired forward Paul George from the Indiana Pacers in exchange for guard Victor Oladipo and forward Domantas Sabonis, Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti announced today.
George, (6-9, 220), averaged a career-high 23.7 points on a career-best 46.1 percent (622-of-1348 FG) shooting from the field and 39.3 percent (195-of-496 3FG) from long distance, 6.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.59 steals and 35.9 minutes in 75 games (all starts) with Indiana during the 2016-17 season.
“We are excited to welcome Paul George to the Thunder family and the Oklahoma City community,” said Presti. “Paul is a tremendous fit for our organization on and off the floor. He represents all the positive traits of an elite competitor, and we have long admired his relentless pursuit to improve and his ability to impact on-court success. His skill set is dynamic and at the forefront of the evolution of the game, yet he combines this with traditional and historical values and will. We are fortunate to have an incredibly unique player wear the Thunder Blue and know he will help us as we continue to build the legacy of the Thunder in real time.”
The four-time All-Star owns career averages of 18.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.65 steals and 32.8 minutes in 448 games (400 starts) over seven seasons with the Pacers. He was the winner of the 2012-13 Most Improved Player Award, has earned All-NBA Third Team honors three times and has been named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team once and All-Defensive Second Team twice.
Selected 10th overall by Indiana in the 2010 NBA Draft, George guided the Pacers to the playoffs in each of the six seasons in which he appeared in 60 or more games and he helped lead Indiana to back-to-back Eastern Conference Finals in 2012-13 and 2013-14. George owns career playoff averages of 19.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.72 steals in 43.0 minutes in 65 games (all starts).
The Fresno State product was a member of the 2016 U.S. Men’s National Team which took Gold at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. He appeared in all eight games (two starts) and averaged 11.3 points (fourth on team), 4.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.50 steals (first on team).
“We feel very strongly about the potential Victor and Domantas bring to our team and what they mean for the future of the franchise,” said Pacers President of Basketball Operations Kevin Pritchard. “Both are highly competitive, highly skilled and both are winners. That is why both were lottery picks, that is why we sought them out to be part of this deal.”
Victor Oladipo was drafted by the Orlando Magic as the second overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. As a rookie with the Magic, he was named to the 2013-14 NBA All-Rookie First Team and was twice named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month (December and February). He played three seasons with the Magic before being traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in June 2016. In his four seasons in the NBA, the 6-4, 210-pound guard has career averages of 15.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. Oladipo played collegiately at Indiana University for three years with averages of 10.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
Domantas Sabonis was drafted with the 11th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, also by the Orlando Magic, before being traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder later that evening as part of the same trade that sent Oladipo to the Thunder. As a rookie with the Thunder, Sabonis played in 81 games (66 starts) and averaged 5.9 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. He played collegiately at Gonzaga for two years with averages of 13.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
“As for the trade, it was difficult both on a personal and professional level,” said Pritchard. “Everyone here knows what Paul meant to this franchise; he was both a tremendous human being as well as player here for seven years. We thank Paul and his family for their contributions to the Pacers and wish him well.”
Pacers waive Monta Ellis

The Indiana Pacers announced Thursday they have waived guard Monta Ellis.
A 12-year veteran of the NBA, Ellis played two seasons with the Pacers. In those two seasons, he averaged 11.3 points and 4.0 assists over 155 games (114 starts). Ellis has career averages of 17.8 points and 4.6 assists per game.
Ellis’ NBA stock is down right now. Last season was a quiet one for him. It’ll be interesting to see what his next role is. Likely as scoring punch off the bench.
Pacers sign second round draft pick Edmond Sumner
The Indiana Pacers announced Wednesday they have signed Edmond Sumner, the 52nd pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Sumner was drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans and acquired in a draft night trade in exchange for cash considerations.
Sumner, a 6-6, 176-pound guard, played collegiately at Xavier where he had career averages of 11.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
Pacers name Chad Buchanan new General Manager

Indiana Pacers President of Basketball Operations Kevin Pritchard announced he has named Chad Buchanan as General Manager. Buchanan replaces Pritchard, who in May assumed his current role. Pritchard also announced that Vice President of Basketball Operations Peter Dinwiddie has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations.
The 44-year-old Buchanan joins the Pacers after spending the last three seasons as assistant general manager for the Charlotte Hornets. Prior to that, Buchanan was with the Portland Trail Blazers for 10 years, serving as a scout, acting General Manager in 2011-12 and director of college scouting.
“I know Chad from when I was at Portland and I thought back then he was extremely sharp and gifted when it comes to talent and what teams need to improve,” said Pritchard. “I’m very pleased we can add someone of his caliber and look forward to working with him. He is very well respected and will fit into the culture we have here.”
Buchanan attended Simpson College (Indianola, Iowa) and was an assistant coach there for five years (1997-2002). He then became an assistant coach/assistant director of player personnel for the ABA’s Kanas City Knights in 2002-03, and served as an assistant coach at Drake in 2003-04 before landing in Portland.
