Bucks sign Xavier Munford

The Milwaukee Bucks have signed free agent guard Xavier Munford.

Munford, 25, was a member of the 2017 USA AmeriCup Team that finished 5-0 and won the gold medal in Argentina. He averaged 10.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.

Last season he split time between the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA G League and FC Barcelona Lassa. He played in 14 games for the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2015-16 season and averaged 5.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists.

A native of Hillside, N.J., Munford concluded his collegiate career at the University of Rhode Island in 2014 where he became the fastest player in school history to reach the 1,000 point mark.

Bucks waive James Young

The Milwaukee Bucks have requested waivers on James Young.

Young, 22, originally signed with Milwaukee on Sept. 6. He did not appear in either of the Bucks two preseason games.

This move is not a surprise. The vast majority of players signed to training camp won’t make their team’s regular season roster, and that was the case here.

Bucks sign Joel Anthony and Gerald Green

The Milwaukee Bucks have signed free agent center/forward Joel (Jo-EL) Anthony and guard/forward Gerald Green to training camp contracts.

Anthony, 35, appeared in 19 games last season for the San Antonio Spurs and averaged 1.3 points and 1.6 rebounds in 6.4 minutes per contest.

Undrafted out of UNLV, Anthony played his first seven seasons with the Miami Heat and won back-to-back NBA Championships in 2012 and 2013. Over his ten-year NBA career he has averaged 2.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocked shots over 490 games (110 starts) with Miami, Boston, Detroit and San Antonio.

Green, 31, appeared in 47 games last season for the Boston Celtics and averaged 5.6 points and 1.9 rebounds in 11.4 minutes per contest.

A ten-year NBA veteran, Green was the 18th overall selection in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics. He sports career averages of 9.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.0 assist over 544 games (116 starts) with Boston, Minnesota, Houston, Dallas, New Jersey, Indiana, Phoenix and Miami. Green spent two years (2009-11) playing professionally overseas in Russia and China.

Bucks waive JeQuan Lewis

The Milwaukee Bucks have requested waivers on guard JeQuan Lewis. The undrafted rookie from Virginia Commonwealth University originally signed a contract on July 6.

In four games during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Lewis averaged 2.0 points and 1.5 assists per contest.

Bucks sign Kendall Marshall to training camp contract

The Milwaukee Bucks have signed free agent guard Kendall Marshall to a training camp contract.

Marshall, 26, appeared in 21 games (18 starts) last season for the Reno Bighorns of the NBA G League and averaged 15.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 9.0 assists in 36.2 minutes per contest. He started in all five games this summer for Team USA in the FIBA AmeriCup tournament and averaged 3.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists for the Gold Medal winning squad.

A four-year NBA veteran, Marshall was the 13th overall selection in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns. He sports career averages of 5.0 points, 1.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists over 160 games (57 starts) with Phoenix, Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee and Philadelphia.

Bucks sign Brandon Rush to training camp contract

The Milwaukee Bucks have signed free agent guard/forward Brandon Rush to a training camp contract.

Rush, 32, appeared in 47 games (33 starts) last season for the Minnesota Timberwolves and averaged 4.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 21.9 minutes per contest.

A nine-year NBA veteran, Rush was the 13th overall selection in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. He sports career averages of 6.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists over 481 games (163 starts) with Indiana, Golden State, Utah and Minnesota. Rush won an NBA Championship with Golden State in 2015.

Bucks re-sign Jason Terry

The Milwaukee Bucks have re-signed free agent guard Jason Terry.

Terry, 40, is an 18-year NBA veteran who played in 74 games with the Bucks last season and averaged 4.1 points, 1.3 assists and 1.4 rebounds in 18.4 minutes per game. He was one of five Bucks players to shoot more than 40 percent from three-point distance, connecting on 42.7 percent of his attempts (2nd on the team).

“’Jet’ is a true professional who knows what it takes to be successful in the NBA,” said General Manager Jon Horst. “He’s a terrific resource for our young group as we continue to develop into a championship-caliber team. We’re excited to have him back in Milwaukee.”

The 6-2 guard was selected by the Atlanta Hawks with the 10th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft and spent the first five seasons of his career with the Hawks. Terry then moved to Dallas where he played with the Mavericks for eight seasons, including the Mavs’ 2011 NBA Championship team. He has also played with Boston, Brooklyn and Houston prior to signing with the Bucks last season.

Terry has appeared in 1,359 NBA games (675 starts) in his career with averages of 13.8 points, 3.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds per contest, while shooting 44.4 percent overall and 38.0 percent from 3-point range. The University of Arizona product was named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year in 2008-09 and is currently first among active players, and third all-time, in 3-pointers made (2,242).
