The Brooklyn Nets have requested waivers on forward Nuni Omot and guard Jordan McLaughlin.
McLaughlin originally signed as a free agent with the Nets on Aug. 20, while Omot inked a deal with Brooklyn on Sept. 25. McLaughlin and Omot each appeared in the Nets’ preseason game versus the New York Knicks on Oct. 3.
Brooklyn’s roster now stands at 18 players.

The Brooklyn Nets have signed forward/center Alan Williams to a two-way contract.
Per NBA rules, teams are permitted sign two players to two-way contracts in addition to the 15-man regular season roster. A two-way player for the Nets will provide services primarily to the team’s NBA G League affiliate – the Long Island Nets – but can spend up to 45 days with Brooklyn, not including any time prior to the start of Long Island’s training camp and at the conclusion of their season.
Williams (6’8”, 265) joins Brooklyn after three seasons (2015-18) with the Phoenix Suns. In 62 career games, he averaged 6.4 points and 5.7 rebounds in 13.6 minutes per contest. During the 2017-18 season, Williams appeared in five games, averaging 4.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 14.1 minutes per game. He also appeared in three games with the Northern Arizona Suns of the NBA G League last season, averaging 16.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals in 23.4 minutes per game.
The Phoenix, Ariz., native went undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft after a four-year collegiate career at UC Santa Barbara (2011-15). Williams led the nation in rebounding in both his junior (11.5) and senior seasons (11.8) and finished as UCSB’s all-time leading rebounder (1,125). He was named First Team All-Big West for three consecutive seasons (2012-15), becoming just the third player in school history to accomplish that feat.

The Brooklyn Nets signed guard Jordan McLaughlin and guard/forward Mitchell Creek today.
Until we hear otherwise, we will assume the signings are non-guaranteed deals that merely bring Creek and McLaughlin to Nets training camp.
Creek (6’5”, 216), joins the Nets after spending the last eight seasons playing internationally for both Adelaide of the Australian National Basketball League (2010-18) and BG Gottingen of the German Basketball League (2018). Overall, the Australian native appeared in 200 games (101 starts) for Adelaide, averaging 9.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 21.0 minutes per contest. In 2017-18, Creek was named to the All-NBL Second Team after guiding Adelaide to the finals of the NBL playoffs. He concluded the season ranked second on his team in points (14.8) and steals (1.2), third in rebounds (6.0) and fourth in assists (2.6). He then averaged 11.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 21.4 minutes per contest in seven games for BG Gottingen. In international competition, Creek won a gold medal in 2017 while representing Australia in the FIBA Asia Cup in Lebanon.
Creek was also a member of the Dallas Mavericks’ 2018 Las Vegas Summer League team, appearing in five games and averaging 6.8 points and 5.2 rebounds in 18.0 minutes per game.
McLaughlin (6’1”, 185) joins the Nets after four years at the University of Southern California. He started all but one of his 128 career games for the Trojans, recording averages of 12.9 points, 5.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 33.5 minutes per contest. As a senior, McLaughlin recorded a USC single-season record 281 assists, which ranked first in the Pac-12 and third in the NCAA, and averaged 12.8 points, a career-high 7.8 assists, 3.7 rebounds and a career-high 2.0 steals in 35.3 minutes per game. The Etiwanda, Calif., native ranks second all-time in USC history in assists (738), third in steals (213), fourth in points (1,648) and fifth in 3-pointers made (185). He is also one of just three Pac-12 players all-time to record 700 or more assists and 1,600 or more points during his career.
McLaughlin was a member of the Nets’ 2018 Las Vegas Summer League team, appearing in five games and averaging 7.0 points, 4.2 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 19.6 minutes per game.

The Brooklyn Nets have signed guard/forward Theo Pinson.
Until reported otherwise, we will assume the signing is a non-guaranteed deal that merely brings Pinson to Nets training camp.
Pinson (6’6”, 210) joins the Nets after a four-year collegiate career at the University of North Carolina. In 122 games (58 starts) for the Tar Heels, Pinson recorded averages of 6.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 21.7 minutes per contest. The Greensboro, N.C., native helped lead UNC to the 2017 national championship as a junior and earned honorable mention All-ACC and first-team All-ACC Tournament honors as a senior. Pinson registered career-high averages of 10.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 29.7 minutes per game in his senior season, becoming the first Tar Heel to average at least 10 points, five rebounds and five assists in a single season and the eighth player to do so in ACC history. He appeared in 14 NCAA Tournament wins throughout his career, tied for second in UNC history.
Pinson appeared in all five of Brooklyn’s games at the 2018 Las Vegas Summer League, posting averages of 11.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in 25.0 minutes per game.

The Brooklyn Nets signed free agent forward Treveon Graham today.
The 6-foot-5, 219-pound, 24-year-old spent the last two seasons on Charlotte Hornets. In the 2017-18 season, he played in 63 games, averaging 4.3 points and 1.9 rebounds in 16.7 minutes per game.
Before starting his NBA career, the Washington, D.C., area native spent his first professional season with the Idaho Stampede in the G League.
Graham went undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft. He enjoyed a standout four-year career at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning first-team All-Atlantic 10 honors twice (2014 and 2015) and second-team All-Atlantic 10 honors once (2013).
Graham will surely come off the bench for Brooklyn, probably behind Caris LeVert and Joe Harris, among others. He’ll have to work hard to get any real minutes.

The Brooklyn Nets yesterday signed forward/center Ed Davis.
Davis is considered a better player than his stats suggest. By many, including us. He’s a role player, but a good one.
Davis (6’10”, 225) joins the Nets after spending the last three seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers. In the 2017-18 campaign, Davis saw action in 78 games, posting averages of 5.3 points (58.2 percent from the field) and 7.4 rebounds in 18.9 minutes per game while finishing fifth in the league in offensive rebound percentage (13.9 percent) and sixth in total rebound percentage (21.4 percent). The 6’10, 245-pound Davis registered more rebounds off the bench (575) than any other player in the NBA, and his six double-doubles off the bench were tied for the fourth-most in the league.
In 559 career games (94 starts) split between the Trail Blazers (2015-18), Lakers (2014-15), Grizzlies (2012-14) and Raptors (2010-13), the eight-year veteran has recorded averages of 6.6 points (56.4 percent from the field) and 6.5 rebounds in 20.6 minutes per contest. The Richmond, Va., native was originally selected by Toronto with the 13th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft after spending two years at the University of North Carolina, helping to lead the Tar Heels to the 2009 NCAA Championship.
The Brooklyn Nets re-signed guard/forward Joe Harris today.
Harris, who originally signed with Brooklyn on July 19, 2016, returns to the Nets after spending the last two seasons in Brooklyn. The 2017-18 campaign saw Harris average 10.8 points (49.1 percent from the field, 41.9 percent from 3-point range and 82.7 percent from the free-throw line), 3.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 25.3 minutes per contest in 78 games (14 starts), all of which represented career highs. The Chelan, Wash., native finished 17th in the league in 3-point field goal percentage, including shooting 46.7 percent from distance from Jan. 1 through the end of the season, which was the second-best mark in the league in that timeframe. He also set the Nets record for 3-pointers made off the bench in a season with 118, finished seventh in the franchise’s single-season history in 3-pointers made with 150 and now ranks 11th in Nets history in career 3-pointers made with 235.
Among the other highlights of Harris’ most recent season in Brooklyn, he led the league in field goal percentage on drives and finished sixth among all players in effective field goal percentage and 11th in true shooting percentage. The four-year veteran also finished the season on a high note, recording averages of 11.9 points (54.3 percent from the field and 47.8 percent from 3-point range) and 2.0 assists in 25.7 minutes per game after the All-Star break.
Harris was originally selected with the 33rd overall pick (second round) in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Cavaliers and spent his first two NBA seasons with Cleveland. In 186 career games split between Brooklyn and Cleveland, the University of Virginia alum has registered averages of 7.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 19.5 minutes per contest.
The Brooklyn Nets have acquired forward Jared Dudley and a protected 2021 second round draft pick from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for forward Darrell Arthur.
Dudley has appeared in 788 career games with Phoenix, Washington, Milwaukee, the Los Angeles Clippers and Charlotte, recording averages of 8.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 23.4 minutes per game.
Arthur was acquired in a trade with the Denver Nuggets on July 13.
The Brooklyn Nets signed free agent guard Shabazz Napier today.
Napier (6’1”, 175) appeared in 74 games (nine starts) for the Portland Trail Blazers during the 2017-18 season, recording averages of 8.7 points (42.0 percent from the field and 37.6 percent from 3-point range), 2.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.1 steals in 20.8 minutes per game. The four-year NBA veteran has seen action in 233 career games with Portland (2016-18), Orlando (2015-16) and Miami (2014-15), posting averages of 5.7 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 15.7 minutes per contest.
The Roxbury, Mass., native was selected with the 24th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft by Charlotte and traded to Miami. Napier spent four years at the University of Connecticut, helping lead the Huskies to two national championships (2011 and 2014). As a senior, he earned consensus first-team All-America honors and was named the NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player, as well as the American Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
Rookie forward Rodions Kurucs has made the Nets.
The team today signed Kurucs, the 40th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, to a multi-year contract.
Players selected in the first round of the draft are guaranteed to receive a contract, but teams get to choose whether or not to sign second-rounders.
Kurucs (6’9”, 220), a forward from Cesis, Latvia, played the past three seasons for FC Barcelona II of Spanish LEB Gold. In 2017-18, the 20-year-old appeared in 16 games, averaging 10.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 20.8 minutes per game. Kurucs has also had stints with FC Barcelona in both ACB and Euroleague competition. He began his professional career with VEF Riga in his native Latvia.
Kurucs has represented Latvia in international competition, including being selected to the All-Tournament team after leading Latvia to the final of the FIBA U16 European Championship in 2014.
