Thunder sign rookie forward Keyontae Johnson to two-way contract

The Oklahoma City Thunder have signed rookie forward Keyontae Johnson to a Two-Way Contract.

Johnson (6-6, 235) was drafted 50th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft. Johnson spent three seasons at the University of Florida before finishing his four-year collegiate career at Kansas State University. In 108 career appearances, he averaged 13.1 points on 51.9 percent shooting, including 38.9 percent from 3-point range, 6.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.08 steals per game.

The Norfolk, Va. native was named to the All-SEC First Team following the 2019-20 season and received All-Big 12 First Team honors following the 2022-23 season. Johnson helped lead the Wildcats to an Elite Eight appearance and became one of just 12 players in Kansas State History to score 600 points in a single season.

Thunder sign rookie guard Cason Wallace

The Oklahoma City Thunder has signed rookie guard Cason Wallace to a multi-year contract, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.

Wallace (6-4, 193) was drafted 10th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft and acquired from the Dallas Mavericks. He was named to the SEC All-Freshman team this past season after averaging 11.7 points, 4.3 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.97 steals in 32 games at the University of Kentucky.

The Texas native was a three-time SEC Freshman of the Week honoree and ranked second in the SEC in assists and fourth in steals. His 63 steals this past season represent the third most by a freshman in Kentucky history.

Heat trade Victor Oladipo to Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder has acquired guard Victor Oladipo, a 2029 second-round draft pick and a 2030 second-round draft pick in a trade with the Miami Heat for cash considerations, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.

In 504 career NBA games (397 starts), Oladipo has averaged 16.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists as a member of the Orlando Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder, Indiana Pacers, Houston Rockets and Heat. During the 2016-17 season with the Thunder, Oladipo appeared in 67 games (all starts) and averaged 15.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

Thunder sign Jared Butler to two-way contract

The Oklahoma City Thunder have signed guard Jared Butler to a two-way contract.

Butler (6-3, 195) has spent this season with the Grand Rapids Gold of the NBA G League, seeing time in 41 games (40 starts) and averaging 18.0 points, 5.7 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.00 steal in 30.1 minutes per game. Selected 40th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft, he spent the 2021-22 season with the Utah Jazz, appearing in 42 games (one start) and averaging 3.8 points, 1.5 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 8.6 minutes per game.

The Baylor alumnus earned consensus First Team All-American honors in 2021 and was named the 2021 NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player, as he led the Bears to their first national championship. He was a two-time First Team All-Big 12 selection and was named to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team in 2021.

Thunder sign Lindy Waters III to multi-year contract

The Oklahoma City Thunder have signed guard Lindy Waters III to a multi-year contract, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.

Originally signed to a Two-Way Contract on Feb. 10, 2022, Waters III has appeared in 25 games with the Thunder this season and averaged 4.4 points and 1.7 rebounds in 11.2 minutes per game. In 20 games (19 starts) this season with the Oklahoma City Blue, he has posted averages of 16.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.15 steals in 34.8 minutes per game.

Thunder sign Olivier Sarr to two-way contract

The Oklahoma City Thunder has signed forward/center Olivier Sarr to a two-way contract.

Sarr (6-11, 240) has appeared in four games this season for the Thunder’s G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue, and averaged 11.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.50 blocks in 20.9 minutes per game. During the 2021-22 season, Sarr saw action in 22 games (two starts) for the Thunder and averaged 7.0 points on 57.4 percent shooting to go along with 4.2 rebounds in 19.1 minutes per game.

The Niort, France native played three seasons at Wake Forest where he earned the ACC’s Most Improved Player award before transferring to the University of Kentucky.

Thunder sign Eugene Omoruyi to multi-year contract

The Oklahoma City Thunder have signed forward Eugene Omoruyi to a multi-year contract.

During the 2022-23 season, Omoruyi has appeared in 21 games with the Thunder and averaged 5.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 12.2 minutes of action. In six games this season with the Oklahoma City Blue, Omoruyi has posted averages of 18.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 steal in 28.3 minutes per game.

Omoruyi was originally signed to a Two-Way Contract by the Thunder on July 2, 2022.

Celtics trade Justin Jackson to Thunder for Mike Muscala

The Oklahoma City Thunder this past Thursday acquired forward Justin Jackson, a 2023 second-round draft pick and a 2029 second-round draft pick in a trade with the Boston Celtics for forward/center Mike Muscala, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.

Jackson (6-8, 220) appeared in 23 games with the Celtics this season and over his six-season NBA career has seen time in 278 career games (61 starts), holding career averages of 6.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 17.6 minutes per game.

Muscala spent four seasons with the Thunder and appeared in 168 games (seven starts) and averaged 7.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 14.5 minutes per game. This season, he saw time in 43 games (five starts) and contributed 6.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 14.5 minutes per game.

Suns trade Dario Saric to Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder has acquired forward/center Dario Šarić, a 2029 second-round draft pick and cash considerations from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for forward Darius Bazley, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.

Šarić (6-10, 225) has appeared in 37 games (12 starts) this season for the Suns and averaged 5.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 14.4 minutes per game. In six NBA seasons with Philadelphia, Minnesota and Phoenix, the Croatian native has seen time in 393 games (217 starts) and averaged 11.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 24.2 minutes per game.

Bazley spent four seasons with Oklahoma City, appearing in 221 games (118 starts) and averaging 9.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 24.1 minutes per game. In 36 games (one start) this season, he averaged 5.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in 15.4 minutes per game.
