The New Orleans Pelicans announced yesterday the team has waived guards Sean Kilpatrick and Chris Douglas-Roberts.

Originally signed by New Orleans on Sept. 10, Kilpatrick, 6-4, 210, appeared in five preseason games for the Pelicans, averaging 10.4 points and 1.0 rebounds. Douglas-Roberts, 6-7, 210, was signed by New Orleans on Sept. 23 and appeared in five preseason games (one start), averaging 7.0 points, 1.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game.

New Orleans’ roster currently stands at 17.

Pelicans waive Jeff Adrien, Bryce Dejean-Jones, Bo McCalebb

The New Orleans Pelicans announced today the team has waived forward Jeff Adrien and guards Bryce Dejean-Jones and Bo McCalebb.

Adrien, 6-7, 245, appeared in three preseason games, averaging 6.3 points and 6.0 rebounds. Adrien was originally signed by New Orleans on Sept. 23.

Dejean-Jones, 6-6, 209, was originally signed by the Pelicans on Aug. 20 and appeared in all seven of New Orleans’ preseason contests, averaging 8.9 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists.

McCalebb, 6-0, 183, appeared in four preseason games after being signed on Oct. 15. The New Orleans native averaged 2.8 points and 2.3 assists.

New Orleans’ roster currently stands at 14.

Pelicans sign Nate Robinson

The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has signed guard Nate Robinson.

Robinson, 5-9, 180, appeared in 42 games last season for Denver and the Los Angeles Clippers, posting averages of 5.7 points, 2.3 assists and 1.2 rebounds in 14.1 minutes per game. Selected 21st overall out of the University of Washington by Phoenix in the 2005 NBA Draft, Robinson has appeared in 616 career regular season games (106 starts) with New York, Boston, Oklahoma City, Golden State, Chicago, Denver and the LA Clippers, while holding averages of 11.1 points, 3.0 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 0.9 steals in 22.5 minutes per game.

Robinson has appeared in 32 career playoff games, averaging 8.6 points, 2.3 assists and 1.4 rebounds.

The only three-time slam dunk champion in NBA history, Robinson will wear #2 for the Pelicans.

Pelicans waive Mirza Begic

The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has waived center Mirza Begić. Originally signed by the team on October 14, Begić did not appear in a preseason game for New Orleans.

Begić, 7-1, 265, most recently played for Laboral Kutxa Baskonia of the Spanish ACB League. Undrafted in 2007, Begić has played professionally since 2003 in Slovenia, Italy, Lithuania, Greece and Spain. A native of Yugoslavia, Begić is a two-time Slovenian League All-Star (2007, 2009), a Lithuanian League All-Star (2010), and led the Euroleague in blocked shots in 2011 with 2.3 blocks per game.

The New Orleans Pelicans announced yesterday that forward Luke Babbitt suffered a left hamstring strain during Monday’s preseason game in Chicago. A timetable for Babbitt’s return will be determined at a later date.

Babbitt, 6-9, 225, appeared in 63 games (19 starts) for New Orleans during the 2014-15 season, averaging 4.1 points, while shooting .513 from three-point range, and 1.8 rebounds in 13.2 minutes per contest. Babbitt originally signed with the Pelicans as an unrestricted free agent on February 4, 2014, and re-signed with the club on July 20, 2015. In 90 career games with the Pelicans, Babbitt has averaged 4.7 points while shooting .452 from three-point range, and 2.2 rebounds.

Originally drafted by Minnesota with the 16th overall selection in the 2010 NBA Draft out of Nevada, Babbitt has played in 216 career NBA games with Portland and New Orleans, holding averages of 4.2 points and 2.1 rebounds.

Babbitt has appeared in three games this preseason, averaging 10.0 points while shooting .400 from three-point range, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has signed guard Bo McCalebb.

McCalebb, 6-0, 183, most recently played for Bayern Munich of the BBL in Germany. Undrafted in 2008, McCalebb is a seven-year veteran in Europe, playing in Turkey, Serbia and Italy, in addition to Germany. McCalebb’s professional highlights include five league championships, two All-Euroleague Second Team selections (2010, 2012), two Italian League Finals MVP awards (2011, 2012), the 2010 Serbian League Finals MVP, the 2012 Italian League MVP and the 2012 Alphonso Ford Trophy – awarded to the Euroleague’s scoring champion.

A New Orleans native, McCalebb played his high school basketball at O. Perry Walker before going on to star at the University of New Orleans. While at UNO, McCalebb held career averages of 20.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. McCalebb earned a handful of individual awards while at UNO, including the Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year (2004), Player of the Year (2007) and defensive player of the year (2008) in addition to being named to the All-Sun Belt Conference 3rd Team in 2004 and 1st Team in 2005, 2007 and 2008. His 2,679 points ranks first all-time at UNO and 24th all-time in NCAA Division I history.

The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has waived guard Corey Webster.

Webster, 6-2, 190, is a native of Aukland, New Zealand, who most recently played for the New Zealand Breakers of the Australian National Basketball League. In 32 games for the Breakers last season, Webster averaged 15.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game. Webster was signed by New Orleans on Sept. 23 and appeared in three preseason games, averaging 1.3 points and 2.0 assists per game.

The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that guard Norris Cole suffered a high left ankle sprain during yesterday’s practice. A timetable for Cole’s return will be determined at a later date.

Cole, 6-2, 175, appeared in 28 games last season for New Orleans after being acquired from Miami at the trade deadline, averaging 9.9 points and 3.2 assists in 24.4 minutes per game. Drafted 28th overall out of Cleveland State by Chicago in the 2011 NBA Draft, Cole has appeared in 302 career regular season games for New Orleans and Miami, holding averages of 6.6 points and 2.6 assists per game.

Pelicans sign Jerome Jordan

The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has signed free agent center Jerome Jordan.

Jordan, 7-0, 253, appeared in 44 games for the Brooklyn Nets during the 2014-15 season, averaging 3.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in 8.7 minutes per game.

Drafted 44th overall out of the University of Tulsa by Milwaukee in the 2010 NBA Draft, Jordan has appeared in 65 career regular season NBA games with Brooklyn and New York, holding averages of 2.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in 7.6 minutes per contest. Jordan has also spent time in the NBA Development League with the Los Angeles D-Fenders, Reno Bighorns and Erie BayHawks, in addition to playing internationally in Serbia, Slovenia, Italy and the Philippines.
