The Utah Jazz have signed forward Danuel House Jr.

House Jr. (6-6, 215, Texas A&M) is in his sixth NBA season and previously signed three 10-day contracts with Utah on Jan. 6, Jan. 18 and Jan. 28 and played in seven games (one start) with the Jazz, averaging 8.3 points on 41.7 percent from three, 2.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists. In his NBA career, he has also played with Washington (2016-17), Phoenix (2017-18), Houston (2018-22) and New York (2021-22), owning career averages of 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 19.3 minutes per game.

The Houston-native has additional NBA G League experience, competing for Delaware (2016-17), Northern Arizona (2017-18) and Rio Grande Valley (2017-19), playing in 60 total games (42 starts), averaging 18.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.2 steals in 32.0 minutes per contest.

Three-team NBA trade sends Joe Ingles to Trail Blazers, Nickeil Alexander-Walker to Jazz

The Utah Jazz have acquired guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker from the Portland Trail Blazers and forward Juancho Hernangomez from the San Antonio Spurs in a three-team trade, sending Portland forward Joe Ingles, guard/forward Elijah Hughes and a future second-round draft pick. The Spurs received guard Tomas Satoransky from Portland and a future second-round draft pick from the Jazz.

Ingles, 34, averaged 7.2 points (40.4% FG, 34.7% 3-PT, 77.3%), 2.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 45 games (15 starts) for the Jazz this season. A veteran forward in his eighth NBA season, Ingles played professionally in his home country of Australia as well as Spain and Israel prior to signing with Utah in 2014. Ingles (6-8, 220) holds career averages of 8.6 points (44.9% FG, 40.8% 3-PT, 76.8% FT), 3.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 0.92 steals in 590 career games (313 starts) for the Jazz. The runner-up for the 2020-21 NBA Sixth Man of the Year award, Ingles suffered a torn left ACL on January 30.

Hughes, 23, is averaging career-highs of 3.1 points (41.7% FG, 35.7% 3-PT, 100% FT), 1.2 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 14 games (one start) for the Jazz this season. The second-year guard out of Syracuse was selected with the 39th pick in the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans. The New York-native holds career averages of 2.3 points (37.9% FG, 35.3% 3-PT, 85.7% FT), 0.8 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 32 career games (one start).

Alexander-Walker (6-5, 205, Virginia Tech) is in his third NBA season, averaging 12.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists (all career-highs) in 26.3 minutes per contest. He’s totaled six games with 20-or-more points, two games with 30-plus points and two double-doubles during the 2021-22 season.

For his career, Alexander-Walker has played in 143 games (33 starts), all for the New Orleans Pelicans, with career averages of 9.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 20.4 minutes per game. The Toronto, Ontario, Canada-native was originally drafted in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft (17th overall) by Brooklyn (traded to New Orleans on draft night).

Hernangomez (6-9, 215, Spain) is in his sixth NBA season, appearing in 23 games in 2021-22 with Boston and San Antonio. For his career, he owns averages of 5.3 points and 3.4 rebounds in 280 games (57 starts) with Denver (2016-20), Minnesota (2019-21), Boston and San Antonio (2021-22). He was originally drafted by Denver in the first round (15th overall in the 2016 NBA Draft).

The 26-year-old has additional professional playing experience in Spain where he began his career with Estudiantes of the ACB in 2013-14. He spent three seasons with Estudiantes (2013-16), and in his final season with the club, averaged 9.7 points on 45.5 percent from the field and 5.7 rebounds in 23.7 minutes per contest.

Utah Jazz forward Joe Ingles suffers torn ACL

Utah Jazz forward Joe Ingles was examined Monday by the Utah Jazz medical staff and underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) testing. The MRI revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee with no other structural damage.

Ingles will remain out indefinitely with surgery taking place in the next several weeks. A torn ACL is quite typically a season-ending injury.

Ingles (6-8, 226, Australia) is in his eighth season with Utah, owning averages of 7.2 points, 3.5 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 24.9 minutes per game. He is Utah’s all-time three-point leader, having knocked down 1,071 during his career.

Per ESPN.com, “Ingles has started 40 of 45 Jazz playoff games over the past five seasons. He was the runner-up to teammate Jordan Clarkson for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award last season. Ingles is in the final year of a $13 million contract, and his expiring contract could still be useful to the Jazz in trade discussions.”

Utah Jazz sign Zylan Cheatham to 10-day contract

The Utah Jazz yesterday signed forward Zylan Cheatham to a 10-day contract under the NBA’s COVID-related hardship exception.

Cheatham (6-5, 220, Arizona State) has one NBA season of experience, playing for the New Orleans Pelicans in 2019-20, where he averaged 3.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 12.8 minutes per game.

He joins Utah most recently from the NBA G League’s Birmingham Squadron, appearing in 13 games (all starts), averaging 14.2 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.2 steals in 30.6 minutes per contest. He spent the 2020-21 season with the Iowa Wolves and appeared in 34 games in 2019-20 with the Erie BayHawks.

Utah Jazz sign Denzel Valentine to 10-day contract

The Utah Jazz have signed guard/forward Denzel Valentine a 10-day contract under the NBA’s COVID-related hardship exception.

Valentine (6-4, 220, Michigan State) joins Utah after most recently spending the 2021-22 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he appeared in 22 games, averaging 2.9 points and 1.7 rebounds in 9.3 minutes per contest.

The Lansing, Mich. native spent four seasons with Chicago (2016-21), owning averages of 7.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 232 games (45 starts).

Jazz sign Norvel Pelle to 10-day contract

The Utah Jazz have signed center Norvel Pelle to a 10-day contract under the NBA’s COVID-related hardship exception.

Pelle (6-10, 231, Antigua and Barbuda) spent the 2020-21 season with Brooklyn, Sacramento and New York, where he averaged 1.5 points on 53.5 percent from the field and 1.5 rebounds in 6.5 minutes per game. He has seen action in 37 career games, starting with Philadelphia in 2019-20 and owns career averages of 2.1 points on 52.4 percent from the field, 2.5 boards and 1.1 blocks in 8.5 minutes per game.

He has additional professional playing experience in the NBA G League with Delaware (2013-15, 2018-19) and Cleveland (2020-22) and overseas with Homenetmen Beirut (2015-16, 2019), Varese (2016-18) and Auxilium Torino (2018).
