Etan Thomas tears MCL in left knee

Tests performed today on Washington Wizards Center Etan Thomas revealed that Thomas has a torn MCL in his left knee.  The injury occurred in the first quarter of last night’s game versus Milwaukee.  Thomas will be listed as out indefinitely, and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Jamison despondent after Wiz blow lead to Bucks

The AP reports: The Milwaukee Bucks’ 97-91 victory over Washington on Monday night, thanks in part to Michael Redd’s 29 points, dropped the Wizards to 7-30 and was their 12th setback in a game they’ve led in the fourth quarter… Trading baskets down the stretch with Wizards guard Nick Young—who scored a career-high 30—and shaking off a tweaked right ankle, Redd helped Milwaukee overcome a deficit that was 13 points in the second quarter, 11 at halftime and five entering the final period… “We knew we could make a run at this team,” said Milwaukee forward Charlie Villanueva, who scored 16 points, “and that’s exactly what we did.” … Making his first start since Jan. 2—he missed four games with back spasms, then was a reserve for a game—center Andrew Bogut came out strong, scoring eight of Milwaukee’s first 17 points. He also finished strong, scoring eight in the fourth quarter and ending up with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Felton shakes off ankle sprain, Bobcats beat Wizards 92-89

The AP reports: The Charlotte Bobcats appeared to be in big trouble when point guard Raymond Felton was carried off the court with 10:17 left in the third quarter after stepping on a cameraman along the baseline. But right after Washington took its largest lead of 13 points with 4 1/2 minutes left in the third quarter, Felton returned despite a sprained right ankle, and sparked a 16-2 run in the Bobcats’ 92-89 victory Saturday night… Raja Bell led Charlotte with 19 points, and Boris Diaw added 18, and Felton had 11 assists.

Gordon, Bulls beat Washington 98-86

The AP reports: Larry Hughes scored 12 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter, Ben Gordon had 22 and the Bulls hung on for a 98-86 victory over the Washington Wizards on Friday after watching a 21-point lead dwindle to seven in the fourth quarter… Hughes got booed when he entered the game late in the first quarter and seemed to hear it after every miss in the second and third, but his late flurry helped hold off the Wizards. He even heard a few cheers in the latter stages, but not many… Tyrus Thomas added 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Drew Gooden scored 16 while grabbing 11 rebounds—his second straight double-double after missing eight games with a sprained ankle… Jamison scored just 12 after pouring in a season-high 32 points in Wednesday’s six-point loss to Toronto, and Caron Butler finished with two while shooting 1-for-8.

Bargnani leads 9-man Raptors past Wizards 99-93

Andrea Bargnani had 25 points on 8-for-9 shooting… Bargnani went 4-for-5 on 3s, and 4-for-4 on other field-goal attempts. Chris Bosh scored half his 18 points in the fourth quarter and added eight rebounds and six assists… Antawn Jamison scored a season-high 32 points for Washington, which hasn’t had Gilbert Arenas (left knee) or Brendan Haywood (right wrist) all season, and is without starting shooting guard DeShawn Stevenson, who has missed a week and is expected to be out at least another 1 1/2 weeks with a bad back.

LeBron James crab dribble

Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James, who is almost as athletic as InsideHoops.com editor Jeff Lenchiner, recently claimed that a move he unleashed which appeared to possibly be a travel was a perfectly legal crab dribble.

The LeBron James crab dribble was against the Washington Wizards, whose players mocked the idea of a crab dribble in post-game interviews.

Below is a very funny crab dribble explanation video from a blog. Enjoy.

Magic survive Butler’s 29, beat Wizards 89-80

Butler scored 29 points, 21 in the third quarter, turning a potential blowout into a close game. No walk in the park: James, Cavs lose to Wiz 80-77

The AP reports: LeBron James was whistled for taking an extra step while driving for a potential tying layup with 2.3 seconds left, and his Cleveland Cavaliers lost 80-77 to the Eastern Conference-worst Washington Wizards despite wiping out a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter. “Bad call,” said James, who compiled 30 points, 10 assists and six rebounds… Indeed, Washington’s Caron Butler—who scored 19 points and guarded James most of the game, including on that closing play—remembers that same move, without an official’s call, from one of the teams’ recent playoff meetings… Antawn Jamison led Washington with 26 points and 13 rebounds, while McGuire had 10 points and 10 rebounds for his first NBA double-double.

James struggled defensively against Paul, however, fouling out in the fourth quarter, when he also was called for a technical for arguing with officials… Tyson Chandler had 11 points and 11 rebounds for New Orleans, while James Posey added 14 points.
