Bucks sign Terrence Jones

The Milwaukee Bucks have signed forward Terrence Jones to a contract for the remainder of the season, General Manager John Hammond announced today. In a related move, Axel Toupane has been released from his 10-day contract.

Jones, 25, appeared in 51 games (12 starts) with the New Orleans Pelicans this season and posted averages of 11.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.0 blocks in 24.8 minutes per game. He was waived by the Pelicans on Feb. 23.

Currently in his fifth NBA season, Jones has played in 229 games and averaged 10.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 24.8 minutes per contest. He spent his first four NBA seasons with the Houston Rockets and also played with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the D-League.

Toupane was signed to a 10-day contract on Feb. 25 and saw action in two games with the Bucks.

Jones will wear uniform number 6. Milwaukee’s roster now stands at 15 players.

The New Orleans Pelicans waived forward Terrence Jones today.

Jones, 6-9, 252, appeared in 51 games this season for the Pelicans (12 starts), averaging 11.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.0 blocks in 24.8 minutes per contest. The University of Kentucky product was originally signed by New Orleans on July 22, 2016.

Selected 18th overall in 2012, Jones has appeared in 229 career regular season games, averaging 10.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.2 blocks with New Orleans and Houston.

New Orleans’ roster now stands at 13.

Terrence Ross undergoes ankle surgery

The Toronto Raptors announced Saturday forward-guard Terrence Ross underwent surgery yesterday in Van Nuys, California to remove bone spurs and loose bodies from his left ankle. The procedure was performed by Dr. Richard Ferkel at the Southern California Orthopaedic Institute.

Ross will conduct his rehabilitation in Toronto. No timetable has been set for a return to basketball activities.

Ross averaged 9.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 25.3 minutes in a career-best 82 games this past season. He owns career averages of 9.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 23.3 minutes in 236 games. He has shot .373 (371-994) from three-point range.
