The Sacramento Kings have converted Isaac Jones’ deal to a standard NBA contract.
A 6-9 forward, Jones has appeared in 31 games for Sacramento this season. Over 11 regular season games with the Stockton Kings, Sacramento’s G League affiliate, he averaged 20.9 points (55.5 FG%), 9.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. Jones originally signed a two-way contract with Sacramento on July 3, 2024 after going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft out of Washington State.
The Memphis Grizzlies today announced the following medical update for forward/center Brandon Clarke:
Clarke has been diagnosed with a high-grade PCL sprain in his right knee, which he sustained during a fall to the floor in the first quarter of the Grizzlies’ game against the Portland Trail Blazers on March 19.
Per the Memphis Commercial Appeal, “Clarke, who has appeared in 64 games this season, has been one of the Grizzlies’ best interior players. His defensive versatility and rim-running ability on offense led to averages of 8.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 62.1% shooting from the field in a career-low 18.9 minutes per game.”
Clarke is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season, and further updates will be provided after a treatment plan and timeline are set.
Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III recently underwent an arthroscopic procedure to address inflammation in his left knee.
Williams will miss 4-6 weeks.
Per the Oregonian, “The regular season ends on April 13. Williams would only play again this season if the Blazers reach the NBA playoffs. The Blazers are in contention for a Western Conference play-in berth. Williams has missed 11 of the team’s last 12 games with left knee soreness.”
The team says he is expected to make a full recovery.
The Sacramento Kings have signed Terry Taylor to a 10-day contract.
In three seasons, Taylor has averaged 4.8 points and 2.7 rebounds in 12.3 minutes per game while shooting 58.1% from the field in 95 career games with the Indiana Pacers (2021-23) and Chicago Bulls (2022-24). In 28 appearances for the Stockton Kings this season, Taylor is averaging 17.6 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 34.3 minutes per game.
A native of Bowling Green, Ky., Taylor played four seasons at Austin Peay State University where he finished as the program’s all-time leader in points, scoring 2,507 career points.
The Toronto Raptors have signed center Colin Castleton to a second 10-day contract.
Castleton, 6-foot-11, 250 pounds, appeared in five games (two starts) with the Raptors during his first 10-day contract with the Raptors (Mar. 6-15), averaging 7.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.0 blocks and 27.8 minutes. He scored career-high 13 points Mar. 14 at Utah and in his first career start, Castleton recorded a career-best 14 rebounds along with seven points and three blocks in 40 minutes Mar. 12 against Philadelphia. In 15 games with Toronto and Memphis this season, Castleton has posted averages of 3.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 12.4 minutes. He was waived by the Grizzlies on Jan. 10 after signing a two-way contract prior to the 2024-25 season.
A native of DeLand, Florida, Castleton holds career averages of 2.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 7.9 minutes in 31 games with the LA Lakers, Memphis and Toronto. Prior to the NBA, Castleton played two seasons (2018-20) at Michigan before transferring to Florida (2020-23) where he earned All-SEC First Team and Defensive Team honours as a fifth-year senior.
The Philadelphia 76ers have signed Chuma Okeke to a 10-day contract.
Okeke appeared in one game with the 76ers earlier this season after signing a 10-day contract on Feb. 7.
Originally selected by Orlando in the first round (16th overall) of the 2019 NBA Draft, Okeke holds career averages of 6.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 20.2 minutes played in 190 games (55 starts) with Orlando and Philadelphia.
Okeke has played in 25 games (all starts) with the Westchester Knicks of the NBA G League in 2024-25, averaging 18.0 points, 7.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.4 blocked shots. He has reached the 15-point mark in 18 of his 25 contests, including a pair of 30-point outings on Jan. 22 against Raptors 905 and on Feb. 25 against the Long Island Nets.
Prior to his professional career, Okeke competed in two collegiate seasons at Auburn from 2017-19, earning SEC All-Tournament Team honors after leading the Tigers to the conference crown in 2019. He was later selected to the NCAA Midwest Regional All-Tournament Team after averaging 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, 2.3 assists, and 1.0 blocks en route to an Elite Eight appearance.
Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas has been diagnosed with a left hamstring strain. The injury occurred during Thursday night’s game at Chicago. Given the number of days remaining in the schedule and the time needed to appropriately recover, it is expected that Thomas will miss the remainder of the season.
In 25 appearances this season, Thomas averaged 24.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 31.2 minutes per game. The 23-year-old tallied a team-leading six 30-point performances, including a season-high 43 points at New York on Nov. 15. Thomas notched his first career double-double with 24 points, six rebounds and a career-high 10 assists in 32 minutes at Chicago on March 13.
Dallas Mavericks guard Danté Exum sustained a left hand injury during the Mavericks game against the Houston Rockets on March 14. Further medical evaluation of the injury yielded a left hand fracture.
Exum will be listed as out and re-evaluated in four weeks with appropriate medical updates to follow as available.
The Indiana Pacers announced yesterday that the team signed center Tony Bradley to a second 10-day contract.
The Memphis Grizzlies have signed forward Lamar Stevens for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.
Stevens (6-6, 230) has come off the bench in six games for the Grizzlies this season and has averaged 4.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 9.9 minutes after signing the first of consecutive 10-day contracts on February 21. He scored a season-high 13 points, including a career-high four 3-pointers, in a win on March 10 vs. Phoenix.
The Grizzlies signed the 27-year-old as a Call-Up from the NBA G League’s Motor City Cruise, where he played 29 games and averaged 17.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.4 blocks in 34.1 minutes.
Unselected in the 2020 NBA Draft out of Penn State, Stevens has competed in 209 games (41 starts) and has averaged 5.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 15.6 minutes in five seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics and Grizzlies. He appeared in 19 games (two starts) for Memphis last season following a trade from Boston and averaged 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds in 23.0 minutes.
